Check Out Rachel Hurst’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Hurst. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Rachel Marie Hurst is the Founder and Creative Director of Rachel Marie Hurst LLC, a fashion brand that believes in the emotional power of clothing. Rachel’s story is one of personal transformation. After years of feeling invisible and powerless, she realized that investing in herself was key to feeling better about herself.

She started the company because she knew how empowering it was to wear her favorite clothes and wanted others to experience this for themselves. Rachel’s mission is to help women feel confident and beautiful, and to show them that fashion is an investment in themselves, for she believes that confident women can change the world!

Each piece of RMH clothing is designed to help women feel their best, whether they’re heading to a meeting, out on a date, or at a red-carpet event, Rachel hopes to provide them with high quality, fashion-forward clothing so they can pursue their dreams and happiness in their lives. The entire process is meant to leave women feeling great and empowered. Her small production size allows her to provide the best service possible. All pieces are ethically made with fair prices and labor.

Every detail is handled with love and care from packaging to production and the company strives to provide the best customer service possible. When you wear RMH, you’re not just investing in fashion. You’re investing in yourself. Rachel has over 12 years of experience in fashion. Her designs have graced the runways of NYFW where she was mentored by Barney’s Creative Director and was sponsored by Diet Pepsi.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I love fashion but it is very much “a have and have not” career. Connections, money, and resources are the most important. It can be difficult to compete even with those three things since fast fashion somehow defies all odds and can offer cheap clothing made in other countries.

You always have to be more creative, have more money, and know more people; you can never rest. But the opportunities can be endless and the creativity is so amazing. Because of my amazing clients and community, I keep going even when things feel Impossible.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create fashion that empowers women to live their best life and pursue their dreams. If you feel confident in what you wear, it spills over into your life. You will reach true success and freedom when you learn to dress for yourself! I create custom pieces, and wedding outfits, as well as I offer special occasion pieces.

I am most known for feminine pieces that have a hint of sass, edge, and chicness. I am proud of building my brand and business by myself but am ready to focus on growth and working with others to get me to the next phase. I think that my personality plus my point of view sets me apart. I can be pretty quiet at first and tend to be a bit reserved. I love to let my clothing speak for itself. My point of view is there is strength in femininity… I always dress a woman that embraces that strength.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
I started my babysitting and nannying business when I was 12. My mom is a single parent of four kids and it was hard for her so being the eldest, I tried to help Where I could. I loved the freedom of being my boss and to be honest, for a 12-year-old, I made great money and awesome perks.

I got to babysit at concerts and go to amusement. It was great and sparked my entrepreneurship mentality… although today, sadly, I don’t get to work at concerts or amusement parks lol. But one day, maybe I will get to dress a celebrity for a glamorous red carpet-event!
