Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor and Kodi Imondi. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Before meeting each other, Victor and Kodi were each on business journeys of their own. Victor’s began when he experienced his first water sports cable park, Texas Ski Ranch, located in New Braunfels, TX. After a motocross race, Victor registered to ride in was canceled in the area, and Victor found his next adventure, cable wakeboarding. He soon began working on a business plan to bring a cable park of his own to Colorado. (circa. 2010)
Growing up boating with her family and friends, along with years of working sales and service in local boat shops; Kodi undoubtedly fell in love with the joy of water sports and its industry. Kodi’s business journey began shortly after she was introduced to the sport of cable wakeboarding at Orlando Watersports Complex, located in Florida. She soon began working on a business plan to bring a cable park of her own to Colorado. (circa 2008)
Together, Victor and Kodi’s story begins with a First Date at No Coast Sushi on Colorado’s Western Slope. It was there that a long conversation about individual goals and where they envisioned themselves in years ahead, revealed the first of many magical moments; “Meant to Be” and “Watersports.” Fast forward 10 years; Mr. and Mrs. Imondi are deep into their business journey, have been married for nearly nine years, and are raising their two brilliant daughters as the Imondi family now owns and operates their small business, Imondi Wake Zone; a watersports adventure park located in Fruita, Colorado.
Imondi Wake Zone provides a family-friendly atmosphere for lake enthusiasts. Families, friends, and singles; can experience towed watersports in a fun, environmentally conscious, and economical way, without the use of a gas-consuming boat. An electric motor powers the state-of-the-art cable system; towing multiple riders at a time as they participate in wakeboarding, waterskiing, and/or kneeboarding.
Imondi Wake Zone also offers an inflatable aqua park, watersports lessons, kids camps, and stand-up paddle boarding for those looking to boost their happiness and confidence on the water. Victor and Kodi, look forward to sharing the joy of water sports with you and yours, for years to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. Victor and Kodi have experienced many record lows and record highs. The challenges were as follows:
– being turned down by 17 banks for start-up
– finding talent in the local workforce to hire
– learning weather patterns as we fall dependent on them
– introducing a new industry to our state and local governments
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Victor and Kodi hold several different roles as business owners of Imondi Wake Zone. They have grown their business from having 5 employees in their first season to hiring 20 employees for their fifth season.
Outside of Imondi Wake Zone, Victor is a Mechanical Engineer; graduating proudly from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. Since graduating he has held a position with a branch of Caterpillar; Solar Turbines. He prides himself in quality customer service, troubleshooting skills, and leadership of his fleets across the Western United States. His units are capable of generating 52,000+ horsepower.
Outside of Imondi Wake Zone, Kodi is a Colorado real estate broker. She has been with Coldwell Banker for eight years. Kodi is currently working on an industrial and commercial business park development, the Fruita Business Park. Also, Kodi has recently accepted the US Sales Partner position with the world market leader and inventor of water sports cableways; RIXEN International, GmbH. With RIXEN, Kodi is working to grow the cable-towed watersports industry in the United States.
Victor and Kodi are by definition; a power couple.
