Community Highlights: Meet Alice Quinlan of Alice Sells Colorado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alice Quinlan.

Alice, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, I was a Stay-At-Home-Mom for close to 20 years for my three children when I realized they were all growing up and leaving. I needed to do something for myself that would fill me emotionally as well as intellectually where I could help my community as well as help myself. My marriage of 32 years was coming to an end. I decided to go to Real Estate School and tackle this very competitive career. I was fortunate enough to find EXIT Realty DTC. I was scared and nervous. It was a bumpy start to be honest. I was working as a part-time scheduler at a dental office in Parker and getting my name out there as a Realtor. Finally, in the fall of 2017, I became a Full-Time Realtor and trusted the Universe. In 2018 I had a good year. The following year was a bit rough so I started driving for Lyft to get my name out there and meet more people. Then 2020 and COVID hit. That was my BEST year yet! I am now a Five Star Professional Rising Star for 2021, and I received the Shining Star Award for 2020 from EXIT Realty. I truly trust in The Law of Attraction and manifesting what you want. Your thoughts do become things so make sure you are thinking the right ones! I have conquered my fears and faced them head-on. I would love to help other women who at this stage called “Midlife” would like to reinvent themselves and find out who they truly are. We have much to offer and much wisdom to share. I welcome the challenges I face in my life now and look at them as learning opportunities to make me a better, more positive person who can radiant joy and love to everyone I meet.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. It definitely has not been a smooth road to say the least. Starting your own business from scratch is hard. You have to dig deep in your soul to find your strength. I started with another brokerage when I first got my Real Estate License. One of those big firms that hires as many people as possible. They throw everyone on the wall and see which ones stick. In my first training class with this brokerage, the managing broker told us all that 80% of my colleagues sitting next to me would be gone within the year. Real great positive reinforcement – NOT. I realized then that when I walked into this office, I got cold pricklies. I needed to find another brokerage and one FAST! I interviewed at many other brokerages and was blessed to find EXIT Realty. Every day I am lucky enough to walk into our offices, I get warm fuzzies. Way better than cold pricklies!🙂 Everything about EXIT was in line with my vision, my personality, my personal values. It was the perfect match. I have found my peeps. EXIT Realty is a family disguised as a real estate company. That is NO JOKE. It truly is a family. Everyone there wants to help each other be the best they can possibly be. When you start in real estate, you truly need a mentor. EXIT Realty is ALL about mentorship, training, and a family culture. It is the perfect fit for me.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor who specializes in helping single women navigate the buying and selling process with CONFIDENCE. There are so many women who are just starting out, going through a separation or divorce or they are a widow who needs guidance. I’m here to help them. I’ve been there and know all the pitfalls professionally and emotionally when you are transitioning from your safe comfort zone to the unknown. I want to empower and guide them through this process with compassion and patience.

I also want to be known for my integrity and honesty before, during and after the sale of your home. I want to make the process of buying or selling your home as painless as possible but also fun. Moving is one of the top stressors you will ever experience in your life. I have moved multiple times in the past 30+ years across the country; three of those with children in tow. I know how stressful it can be, and I want to make it as stress-free as possible. Change is hard, but we need to make change a wonderful concept in our lives instead of something to fear. The one thing we can all count on is that NOTHING stays the same. Change is inevitable. Might as well embrace it than fear it. I am constantly learning. This job is ever-changing. You need to be on top of the changes and educate yourself. Knowledge is power. The more training I receive, the better Realtor I will be. I look forward to learning every single day in this business and helping as many people as possible achieve “The American Dream.”

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” -Henry Ford

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes, absolutely. I follow the The Law Of Attraction @lovethelawofattraction · Health & Wellness Website Facebook page and I live by it. I fell in love with the idea of The Law of Attraction after watching The Secret. It completely changed my life and my outlook on my life, personally and professionally. You can do anything you put your mind to. You have to believe, put it out to the universe and then be ready to receive it. You don’t worry about the HOW. The Universe will provide. Your job is to TRUST.
