Community Highlights: Meet Lisa Bengtson of BlendWorks Digital Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Bengtson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got started in 2016 by helping my Husband, who is a Financial Advisor and owns his own practice, with his Digital Marketing. Before that I had spent 11 years as an Ultrasound Sonographer but as I got more involved with Digital Marketing, I realized I had a passion for it, to the extent that in 2019 I decided to launch BlendWorks Digital Marketing. I am proud to say that I now help small businesses grow their online traffic and also their revenue, on a full-time basis!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a pretty-smooth transition into business ownership and operating. The two biggest obstacles that I have faced (along with the stress of leaving a stable, full time position) are:

1) Growing too quickly! I had to limit my services while I figured out the best way to be able to grow my business without working 24/7 and making time for my family and friends.

2) The Covid – 19 pandemic, just like everyone else, Covid affected businesses and their marketing. Each industry was impacted differently, and I had to learn to be extra flexible helping them navigate through all the changes.

We’ve been impressed with BlendWorks Digital Marketing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My overall goal is to get my client’s businesses to the Top 5 in a Google search using the following services:

1.) Website Design
2.) Website SEO
3.) Review Marketing Software
4.) Social Media Marketing

Most larger businesses JUST specialize in Website Design but don’t do the SEO, and having an optimized site is the way the businesses will be found online. The best way for a business to grow its online traffic is combining all four services, which is where the business name comes in, BlendWorks Digital Marketing. I “blend” different methods of digital marketing to help grow a business’s traffic, which in turn, grows their business and revenue.

I am known for my affordable prices and flexible packages. I truly listen to each business owner and tailor a proposal that is specific to their needs and goals, while also sending out monthly reports to document progress or identify where we need to improve numbers. I truly care about my clients results and feel that I am not successful if their business is not successful and hitting their goals we have set in place.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I took a large risk when I left my career as a sonographer and took a leap of faith that I could build a successful business. Considering that both my husband and I are small business owners, the thought of not having a guaranteed paycheck was frightening. However, the decision to leave healthcare and build something I am passionate about has been extremely rewarding! While the decision to leave something stable was stressful, the benefits have truly outweighed the stress. Now that I can make my own hours and be my own boss, I am available to my boys if they need me and can be involved with their school and other activities!
