Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Betancourt.
Hi Veronica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been working events since I was 18 years old. I had the opportunity to serve ice cream at a kid’s birthday party and I fell in love. I saw the potential and all I could do right there and then. I worked for that event planning company for about seven years and climbed my way up until I became the lead planner. It was always exciting and a challenge but I can confidently say it was a wonderful school for me, to absorb all the knowledge and expertise I have now, and I’m lucky to apply to my very own wedding planning business here in Denver.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I moved to The US almost 6 years ago and it was a big challenge and adjustment in every area of my life. I took a break from events to give myself the time and space to accommodate and get used to all the new experiences that were coming my way. I never stopped missing it. Planning events it’s my passion and a safe space where I feel I excel. Opening a business in a foreign country it’s a challenge on its own. But for a minute my biggest challenge was trying to understand the way things are done here and finding my place and my value in a completely different market. Sometimes we think we need to blend in to fit in and the reality is that standing out and doing things differently can be your superpower. Embracing that, it’s not as easy as it might sound, it’s scary and has some growing pains attached to it, but I know it was worth it to embrace my roots, recognize that my experience has a huge value, and having fresh eyes to a very structured market can be appealing to my clients.

We Vow Weddings is a wedding planning business based in Denver, Co. We specialize in budget-minded couples. We are very proud to say that we find creative ways to give our couples the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank. We do Full wedding planning and wedding management. Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite book is Untamed by Glennon Doyle, it gave me so much perspective on what we think success is and how it can change as we grow, heal and get to know ourselves better.
I’m obsessed with Goal Digger Podcast with Jenna Kutcher is such an amazing resource for entrepreneurs and business owners.
Also Se Regalan Dudas Podcast for Spanish speakers, it’s a great podcast for reflection, growth, and self-awareness.
Another wonderful book I loved reading is Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz.
I believe that the more you grow personally, the better you know yourself and take care of your needs you have a greater chance to succeed in all your relationships, in your business, and in life as a whole.
