Conversations with the Inspiring Morgan Jansen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Jansen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story started in Minnesota where I grew up playing hockey and going fishing up North. I moved to Denver when I was 15 and have gone back and forth, but now call Broomfield my home with my husband, 16-month-old son, and Bernese puppy. I am now enjoying Mom life, growing my career in real estate, spending time with family and meeting new friends. My passion for real estate started sometime in college and after graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in Psychology, I was fortunate enough to meet someone that gave me a chance to follow my dream. The first year in real estate, or really any new business, is the most challenging. I have experienced the “first year” twice now. Moving states, learning a new market, and becoming a Mom all at the same time showed me how much I’m truly capable of. This is just the beginning and my full potential is just being tapped. The sky is the limit and I am so excited where I am today and where I’m going. Stay tuned…

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, I grew up in the country so prefer gravel roads anyways 😉 I love the John Maxwell quote: “Fail early, fail often, but always fail forward”. There will always be challenges but it’s how you look at them and react to them is what makes the difference. I’ve faced a lot of challenges and know I will continue to do so, but that is also what makes me grow and become a stronger person.

My advice is to always keep pushing, you are a lot stronger than you might think. I’m always reminding myself this when times get tough. Find some great mentors, keep your ears open and never stop learning. Affirmations, gratitude and vision boards are huge tools as well.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Denver Metro Realtor story. Tell us more about the business.
I feel incredibly proud and lucky to do something I love every day. I am truly passionate about homeownership and helping people find their dream home. It is so rewarding handing a first-time home buyer the keys to their home they’ve worked so hard for, or helping a seller get the most out of their biggest investment. I care for each of my clients as if the transaction is my own and that’s what sets me apart. I value my client relationships and constantly go above and beyond to make their deals a success. I’m proud to be a part of an incredible company (Keller Williams) and earlier this year I joined the Sam Biller Home Team and truly feel like I have found my place. I’m surrounded by amazing mentors and agents that bring out the best in me and keep me pushing for more in my career and life.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Both my parents played a huge role in who I grew up to be. At a young age, my Mom was a great example of a successful, powerful businesswoman. She worked her way to the top as a stock trader despite not having a college degree while being a single mom. I always looked up to her and saw her face challenges and overcome them again and again. My Dad was a hard worker that spent every free minute he had coaching our sports or teaching us outdoor activities like fishing or hunting. He had an amazing work ethic that allowed him to pursue things he was most the passionate about. Another experience that stands out is moving from Minnesota to Colorado mid-year in high school not knowing anyone. My world was turned upside down but I learned so much from having to start all over.
