Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Hofkens.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started getting into photography really young. I used to save up money to buy disposable cameras and beg my mom to get me more. That turned into me borrowing my moms little digital Nikon camera, to taking a visual communications class and checking out the school cameras almost every weekend. I originally was drawn to nature and landscape photography but around 18, I started having a growing interest in fashion and conceptual photography. Now my main focus is doing photoshoots with people. I just enjoy working with people and watching them light up when they see the results.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I like most artists have faced multiple times of burnout. I worked really hard to get the traction I had in California and met so many people that I’m grateful to know and moving to Colorado I underestimated how hard it was going to be to restart.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do a lot of conceptual and boudoir photography! Those are the two styles I think I enjoy shooting the most. I’m most proud of the way my style has progressed and how much I’ve learned in my time.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I grew up in Washington state and for a while when we were kids my mom would have us pack bags for any type of adventure and she would pick us up on Friday and we’d go on some random adventure. Sometimes we’d just stay in a hotel a few towns over but most of the time we’d be camping at national parks and exploring. I don’t think she even knew what we were going to be doing before we’d leave.
- Currently, I’m doing a move-in special $200 for access to all photos, unlimited outfit changes
