Conversations with Corinna Lander

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinna Lander. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Partners in life and business, Matt and Corinna met tubing down the Clear Creek River in Golden, CO. We bonded over losing both of our mothers to brain cancer, and for both of us it has been a huge part of what started us down our spiritual journey. Loss can be such a huge catalyst for change. Matt speeds Corinna up, and pushes her to lean into her fears, while not taking life too seriously. Corinna slows Matt down, grounds him, and reminds him to take time to feel and be a little more serious.

Corinna has worked as a professional photographer for over eight years, working with women in a very intentional way that brings women back into their unique expression. She weaves ceremonial work like cacao and sound healing into her sessions, to create a safer lense for women to see themselves. When she stumbled upon aura photography, she felt like it was the most unique bridge between the two to open people up to all the magic that they are.

Matt has worked in sales for over two decades and has a love for getting to know all people and their story. Being so committed to his own healing journey, he has sat and worked with an abundance of plant medicine and found it to be the most supportive tool in getting to the root of all healing. Matt’s love in life is to meet people where they are and hold space for seeing them evolve into their most aligned selves, with a few laughs along the way.

We started Ignite Your Aura together deciding that we wanted to shake things up in our careers and bring more fun and celebration to the day-to-day. For us, FUN is our #1 value. We love being able to come together as partners and decide that life can always be playful, with a side of spiritual. We are in love with growing Ignite Your Aura, as it allows us to meet each other in our brilliance, and to connect with so many individuals on their healing paths. We have been completely in awe of the community that aura photography brings together, and are so grateful to all the aura photos we’ve taken along the way.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The curiosity in our business has come both easy for us, and others. Even the skeptics walk away believers.

The struggles along the way usually come from our setup, while the experience of aura photography is similar to a tarot reading, we do a full intuitive reading and interpretation of your aura. The camera we use was designed in the ’70s, the aura cam 6000, and requires a little bit of a high maintenance setup. It needs to be set up in a very low-light environment, preferably where it can be as dark as possible. And with our backdrop, tripod, and lighting setup, she likes to take up a lot of room. Along the way we’ve managed to find out way into closets, storage rooms, hallways, and on some occasions, we bring our own canopy set up to create a more intimate environment.

I would say our biggest struggle, is also our biggest supporter. And that is that many people are just becoming aware of “what the heck aura photography” even is? For some, it leaves them really curious and intrigued, for others, it is just starting to land in their awareness. But anyone who has experienced aura photography immediately gets hooked on how accurate it really is!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in aura photography in the Denver area, although we do love to travel for aura photography experiences, and have flown as far as St. Barts.

Aura photography utilizes your bioelectric feedback to measure and interpret your energetic bodies. We are all made up of energy, and we all have an energetic field surrounding us. Our camera is unique in that it actually creates a polaroid image of the person and their aura, rather than a computer-generated image. Which can be a really fun experience to actually see yourself within your aura.

Each image shows us what chakras in your body you are activating and where, and we do an intuitive reading and interpretation of your aura. This can act as a guide for us to connect more deeply to where we you are showing up in the present moment. It offers a new perspective on our current world, the inner work we have been cultivating, and new directions we can explore. They are a playful yet affirming experience to continue this glorious journey within ourselves. And also, most importantly, they’re very pretty.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
We opened our business right in the middle of the pandemic. For some, maybe that would have been a red flag, but for us there felt like no better time to come together and unite our communities! Understandably, there was a lot of fear in our culture at the time. We wanted to shift that, to bring something to all of us that could create hope and encouragement, over fear and isolation.

We of course are very mindful of our practice around Covid-19, being sure to clean equipment between guests and do our part to stay present with current guidelines.

I am grateful to our growing Denver community of shops and small businesses, as they are what has allowed us to continue to do aura photography pop-ups in and around Denver. And what we have found, is that it supports not only us but the stores we set up in. Most of them have some of their highest grossing days, with all of the new foot traffic!

  • Our pricing starts at $68
