Conversations with David Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Morris.

Hi David, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
EAC LTD started as an apparel brand in 2009, focusing mainly on the skateboard industry at that time. We sponsored local skateboard athletes and frequently put out skate videos and social media content to promote the team/brand. My company was incorporated in February of 2011, this is when we started offering apparel production for some local businesses, screen printing, and embroidery. Over the next few years, we started to focus on graphic design, garment sourcing, and expanding our client list. The last few years we have shifted into manufacturing fully custom Cut/Sew Apparel, as well as countless promotional products for our clients. We are now blessed to produce merchandise for some of the biggest brands and businesses in Colorado and nationwide.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest struggles along the way has been getting recognized in the apparel industry. We have never done a ton of advertising as a company, so word of mouth has been our biggest method of exposure. The struggle of being a better version of ourselves every year is forever ongoing:)

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Growing up in the skateboard/snowboard world, I have always been a fan of self expression. Through our apparel design and product development, we are always trying to push the envelope creatively. Constantly trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to basic garments currently carried by many businesses and brands. Not changing the garments completely, just making them more modern and functional. Most recently reimaging the standard “work shirt” used by so many breweries. As someone who has bartended in these same work shirts in the past, I wanted to make a new version that is lightweight, stretchy and breathable. My vision is to take take the same creative approach with all of the custom apparel we currently manufacture (socks, pants, jackets, hoodies, hats, etc). Maybe someday, when you see a great apparel item for sale, it will have an EAC MFG label on the inside. That is the dream:)

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have always been the kind of person to run with any opportunity that came along. “Create your own luck” is a phrase I live by; I feel like the luckiest guy in the world right now.
