Today we’d like to introduce you to Annette Moon.
Hi Annette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A few months before Covid hit, I decided to get alcohol-free. My life was “successful” by all societal standards, yet spiraling out within. I owned & operated a thriving cafe here in the springs & was very much a part of the local bar scene. Something was missing, it nagged at me constantly but I was unable to realize it fully until a few months post sobriety.
I picked my old film camera back up & fell head over heels in love with it. I began developing film in my sink & creating conceptual art, finally manifesting that nagging energy within. I started a photography company earlier this year after losing my cafe due to my building being sold out from under me.
Photography has helped me form a solid base of self-love. I am able to look at life through varying lenses, if you will, and endure the tough blows that life often serves. My dream is to share this inspiration with the world through my work. What is developed in the darkness through alchemy becomes a treasure for all to see, with the intention to bring HEALING.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been extraordinarily bumpy with getting sober & losing my business, but phenomenally rewarding in regards to discovering my true passion & purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a film photographer & conceptual artist, moving into filmmaking as well. I specialize in bringing vivid dreams to life, fantastic visions, & nightmares, too. I am most proud of every single new shoot that I do, as a new level unlocks with each step.
What sets me apart is my ability to channel other worlds. My entire life I have been told that I am “too much” due to having one foot in the spirit realm. I understand magic & am deeply connected to it. Photography gives me a space to focus & pour these gifts without holding back.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
My sweet friends who let me dress them up crazily & photograph them deserve so much credit!
