Daily Inspiration: Meet Caitlin Sumner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Sumner.

Hi Caitlin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I honestly feel like at this point in life, I have my hands in many things, but all of them truly align with my purpose. I model full time, I own a women empowerment company helping women specifically in domestic violence situations, I have a vegan lipgloss business where I create incense and bundles, I do brand content and ambassador programs, I’m currently starting to speak at events encouraging young women and adolescents, I am part-time at the boutique and I am also monetized on social media platforms so I create content as well. What I love the most is supporting small businesses all over the US and really giving people the chance to showcase their dreams. I feel like if we just supported each other as a community, we could truly change lives all around us. It starts with one small task, we have to be a little delusional, we have to believe we can achieve anything and wake up determined to not give up. It is that discipline that takes us to the next level.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing in life worth having comes easy. I think that everything I’ve ever experienced in life has brought me here to this very moment. I recently got into reflecting every morning before I start my day and every evening when I finish it, and it’s in that time that I determine my view of the day. If we believe everything happens for the greater good, the bad isn’t so bad after all just a lesson along the way. We have the power to be different. We can choose our perspectives. When we learn that we are unstoppable even with said struggles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love to support small businesses in my photoshoots so often times I am wearing something that another has created, made, and dedicated their time to. I see the vision in all people, and I really believe in the community. I am known for my sense of urgency in creating a safe place for others, my videos of encouragement, and I’d like to say my artistic take. I never do a shoot that isn’t unique and a lot of people take notice. I showcase everyone involved from the hairdresser to the photographer the clothing brand and my nail designer. I believe everyone matters so no matter what city I am in, I always try to include somebody. Everyone deserves that chance.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I laugh at this question because as a child, I thought I had it all figured out. Even in my teenage years I just knew I knew and that was the far from the truth. Many lessons come with that, but so so many breakthroughs. I think it’s a blessing how I turned out. I look back now and I’m so thankful. I’ve always knew I wanted to help people and make a difference but I’ve also always been full of energy, passionate and in love with life. I couldn’t imagine being anything else. Art has always been a part of me and the need for more. I’ve always saw life for what it was but also what it could be. Safe to say, I’m always on my toes.
