Today we’d like to introduce you to Judith Mann.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Massachusetts and attended university in Boston. After school I moved to Portsmouth NH got married moved to Durham and became a Social Worker for the state. Due to health issues, I had to retire and sat for nine months catching up on all the books I never had time for. Today I have my health back and enjoying life again.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I didn’t have a smooth road I struggle with alcohol and haven’t had a drink in 29 years. I also suffered from severe sinus infections for many years that interfered with my life and work. it wasn’t till I went to my ENT he found my nose was broken. He fixed my nose and cleaned out the sinuses and I haven’t been this healthy in years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a clinical social worker and for years I treated and assessed a specialize group of men in the prison system. I was known for treating them with respect. I’m proud of the many men I treated went on to become members of society and to date have never reoffended. At one point I literally ran our program by myself and made sure the men got the care they needed.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
How Alcohol impacts PTSD many don’t know how I struggled with drinking.
