Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarai Anneliese

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarai Anneliese.

Hi Sarai, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When it comes to singing, I have been doing that since I was 2 years old. I heard Christina Aguilera’s debut album and was obsessed with vocals ever since. When it comes to starting a channel and sharing that with the world, I had been posting on apps like Snapchat and Instagram for a while, but only snippets.

One day I was in my car, it was 10 at night, I just parked and started recording a quick Snapchat, then randomly decided it was time to start a channel. My channel has evolved over the last 3 years, it started in my room at my parent’s house. Randomly decided the days and times I would post.

Now I have an entire room that’s decorated wall to wall for recording content, a giant whiteboard for the layout of my covers, vlogs, and other tasks surrounding my music career. I am still experimenting and figuring out what works, but I love it and I am excited to see it grow more!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not smooth. The biggest struggle for me was consistency, but not because I didn’t want to be consistent, it was due to not being realistic with myself. I have a pretty good position where I work right now, but with the level of responsibility I have, I wasn’t able to put the time into recording or maintaining my channel as much as I wanted to.

I was constantly working on my days off which would prevent me from following my schedule and that led to me skipping weeks from posting, completely falling off from social media, and everything. I kept trying to force myself into this routine that felt convenient by recording on my days off, then spending the only days I had off editing, posting, etc. It ended up feeling like an overwhelming amount of work rather than a passion!

Now, I have snapped into reality and I have a really solid schedule that not only works for me, but it doesn’t overwhelm me, I don’t feel rushed to put out content and I am much more confident in the content I do put out.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My channel is music and lifestyle, I do a “Day in the Life” series, and it’s a hang-out session! I will cook, clean up, restock, show some of my day jobs, and travel. My biggest focus right now is growing my channel and collaborations. I am close to getting a home studio set up and I am very excited about the work I will be able to do!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I LOVE that there is ALWAYS something going on here! I used to live in a really small town where there weren’t any sidewalks and Walmart was the mall. Moving to Colorado was amazing and really opened opportunities for me. I love the trivia nights, pub crawls, concerts always, etc.

There really isn’t too much I dislike about my city! I do wish we wouldn’t be under construction all the time for 80 years, but if it makes the roads better then okay!
