Hidden Gems: Meet Carson Allen of Foo Dog Motorcycles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Allen.

Hi Carson, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before starting Foo Dog, my life was music-focused. Trying to stay afloat financially and fulfilled creatively lends to an often teetering imbalance. My wife and I started growing our family in 2019, and the idea of pursuing the uphill battle of a music career didn’t align with the environment I wanted to being my child into…

The only other passion I’ve carried that happened to be a reliable source of income was buying, fixing and selling old motorcycles. At a very young age, my love for motorcycles formed. I grew up on a farm and would ride my motorcycle as far into the unknown as possible. It was my first sense of freedom.

I conceptualized this brand in the summer of 2019 and got at it.. from the first bike, I filmed everything I did and invited the world to tag along on my adventures of finding these bikes. I launched the service/restoration side of the business in early 2021 and worked my ass off to get the name out to as many people as possible. From the radio to tv, I’ve made sure to peruse every platform possible to tell everyone what this dream of mine is all about.

Fast forward to today, this small idea has grown into a fine-tuned operation that’s invaded two commercial spaces and resurrects bikes at a never-before-imagined level.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been hard not taking a paycheck and putting everything back into the business… but I knew that sacrifice would help us get further, faster. There are always the struggles of moron customers who think they know more than my master mechanics… I end up spending way too much energy explaining that they don’t.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We service, restore and sell vintage motorcycles.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Attitude has played the biggest role in my success.. when times are difficult and challenges present themselves, I remind myself that I CHOSE to start this business, knowing damn well there would be moments that weren’t fun.
