Hidden Gems: Meet Laura Weiner Kiser of Change By Challenge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Weiner Kiser.

Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a personal trainer because I wanted to learn how to care for my body and also learn how to lose weight. I loved helping educate people on their bodies but I realized there was more to weight loss. So I expanded my education to include a nutrition specialist certification. That skyrocketed my career and my success. I was successful at helping people lose 10-20-100 lbs!!!

However, for some, it was only a diet. I was curious about what made it work for some and not others. That’s when I found coaching and became a health and life coach. I learned the impact our mindset and hormones have not only on our weight but our happiness and life overall. My passion took over and I’ve been learning and helping people since.

Understanding how the mind works and interacts with our body to create chaos or harmony is magical. It was so inspiring I started my own company called Change By Challenge because the truth is if it doesn’t challenge you it won’t change you. I get to help people lose weight, expand their careers, enhance their confidence and create harmony in themselves and their lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No way! Haha! Within this journey, I had my own. I struggled with my own weight loss, my own lack of confidence, and my programmed people pleasing. I didn’t truly understand who I was and I outsourced my sense of worth to others. This pattern left me feeling so shameful and alone that I struggled with suicidal thoughts.

In hindsight, my struggle was a blessing because it gave birth to my coaching which freed me from the mental cage I’d trapped myself in. I’ve had to learn how to eat for my body and discover what balance looks like in my health and in my life. But most importantly I’ve had to learn to claim my worth and belong to myself.

My journey has taught me who I am and allowed me to heal my old wounds so now health is easy and natural because I truly do love myself. It sounds corny, but it’s transformative.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Change By Challenge?
My business is called Change by Challenge where we offer health and life services. We help people heal their relationship with food and their health. We help people change their behaviors to align with their desired outcomes, We help people build a bridge between where they are and where they want to go.

We work with their mindset and different brain systems to help them think differently so they can just be their best self instead of struggling. What sets me apart from others is me, so my clients tell me. Having struggled myself I’m not naive to the challenges we face. I help people build confidence and understand the change in a realistic way that is supportive of who they are.

I help them understand themselves and learn to show compassion. My ability to understand psychology and the inner working of our brain and body is what makes me so successful. What I’m most proud of are my clients. I’ve loved helping people before I knew what it was. to help my clients step into their light, claim their value, fight FOR themselves, choose to value themselves, and learn how to balance their lives and their mind is beyond rewarding.

When my clients get to “fly away” as I call it, it is inspiring. Knowing they can lead a life in alignment with their values and their desires and stop the self-sabotaging and damaging cycle. I can’t think of anything better. What I want your readers to know is that you don’t have to do it alone, there is a way out, and you are strong enough to choose yourself.

I know shame, I know fear, but they only hold power over you as long as you allow it. I’m not saying it’s easy, it’s not, I’m saying it’s worth it. If you don’t know where to start, just have a call with me, It’s free on me, no sales, no gimmicks just to try and help you see the best path for you. My mom always taught me that sharing is caring, and if you allow me I’d like to show I care if you allow me to share!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
The whip cream fight at my family’s lake house. I have a big family and we are all very active, love the water, and love being outdoors. Every year on the 4th of July we would get 2 giant tubs of whip cream and race into the lake then start throwing it at each other.

Once the whipped cream was gone, the tubs turned into water cannons and a giant water fight erupted. The best part was there were no winners or losers, it was just for the fun!
