Hidden Gems: Meet Lindsay Jewell of Property Professionals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Jewell.

Hi Lindsay, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was young and I was ready to get out on my own. I started looking for my place and took the plunge into a crummy little townhome that I loved! Why did I love it? Because it was mine! I stayed there for a few years before eventually buying my first home but that crummy little townhome opened more doors than I ever expected. I made fast friends with my Landlord and she offered me a position as her Assistant Property Manager. This gave me a good laugh, due to the fact I had no experience, but I took another chance.

Less than a year after taking the position and getting my Real Estate license she announced she would be moving and I would be taking over for her as Property Manager. This was a challenge, with little experience and the need for help, but we found the right people for the right positions and spent the next 5 years doubling the portfolio in size and adding a Homeowners Association Management department as a team!

I transitioned easily into full-time Real Estate Sales, helping both Buyers and Sellers reach their goals. Doing sales only had me missing the challenge of Property Management so I opened that department at my current company and we are currently doing it all! It’s a lot but I am proud that I can offer such a well-rounded view into the Real Estate industry at a high level of professionalism with an amazing team!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were tons of challenges, though looking back none seem as daunting now as they did then. The transition from Assistant to Property Manager was a big learning curve. This came with added responsibility, employee oversight, and management of our office space. This was new to me and at 21 seemed like more than I would know what to do with.

Leaping sales was a scary change as well, going into a position of commission-based income where I could only rely on myself. This gave me so much more than I expected, not only did my business take off and I was financially blessed but I experienced major personal growth in these first few years.

We’ve been impressed with Property Professionals, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I found a home in Property Professionals. To find a group of people who are as committed to their industry, education, and loyalty to their customers is something I am grateful for every day. Together we are a full-service company offering support in Real Estate Sales, Property Management, Homeowners Association Management, and Short Stay Management.

I am experienced in all of our services with my current focus on Sales and Property Management. The team I work with provides professional and courteous service to all of our clients. Our goal from day one was to offer the best service in our area and make sure that our quality of service always remains a top priority. I believe we are meeting these expectations every day and we continue to see that in our personal and professional growth.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I tend to be pretty conservative when it comes to taking risks in my endeavors and I typically need a push for risk in my professional life. I am a planner and an analyzer so I prefer my risks to be very calculated. I like to be educated on the risk I am taking and have an idea of all possible outcomes so I can be prepared either way.
