Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Escobar.
Andrea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The journey has been incredible. I have learned so much about myself and just what it really means to follow your passion and live to your truest most authentic self.
I was talking to a friend the other day who asked me what my end goal was or like where I envisioned myself. Because when he said end goal I looked at him like, dude you know that there is no end in passion. I follow where my passion takes me and I see myself having a talk show, a very laid back approach. Where we can smoke weed, try new cannabis products and have this incredibly powerful and moving conversations.
That wasn’t on the agenda when I started Follow Our Passion.
I started Follow Our Passion after realizing there was a void in the mental health world. While there was a holistic approach being explored, the thought of incorporating cannabis was still very much looked down upon.
Food had always been a huge part of my life, cooking was always a game to me, it was fun and exciting, it brought out the creativity that my manic side encouraged.
I also found cannabis-the beautiful, healing herb that allowed me to achieve a new level of wellbeing. I found a way to use cannabis as a way to elevate self-love, remove self-limiting beliefs, enter a higher level of consciousness and find new ways of living mindfully.
Follow Our Passion represents me in every sense of the word. I’ve been able to explore my inner growth on new levels since I am literally documenting it all.
Honestly what people don’t know is that when I left the medicated path and embraced a d more holistic one I wanted to share that journey with the world. Everything I was going through that no one was talking about, the high libido, the years of surpassed emotions leaking out everywhere.
I had so many questions and I would ask my psychologist who would often laugh because I felt like i was the only one and she said that lots of people felt the same way I did.
Finally one day that struck something and the rest is history.
Where I want to take the brand next is really somewhere more personal. I am sharing more of myself, I’ve realized over time that we think we are the only ones with these fears and thought but the truth is we all at some point experience something around that level.
I want to create space where people can explore this and heal. I do a lot of my healing, inner growth in the most unexpected places. Normally someone is sharing something and it resonates with me on a deeper level and it’s kind of an AHA type of feeling.
That work can be hard so that is my next project, creating that. Oh and the talk show. Workshops.
There is so much on the horizon.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hahaha. It has not been an easy road. And there is beauty in that.
Follow Our Passion has been my baby and watching it grow and learning from each setback has been amazing.
Yeah, there are times when I question it all and then I remember there’s a reason I’m on this path.
Holding on to that whenever I feel like everything is falling apart has really kept me going.
That and remember that there is always a rainbow after a rainstorm. There is beauty coming from this darkness.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Follow Our Passion – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
When I started Follow Our Passion, I knew I was treading new waters. I knew that while there was a connection between mental health and cannabis, I was starting something. The whole reason for Follow Our Passion is filling a void I felt when I was diagnosed and then again when I was trying to find a new way to mange my illness.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
My mom has always supported every wild, crazy idea that popped into my mind. That has really helped me. She also taught me to not give up. She’s my daily cheerleader. I never realized just how lucky I was until later on when I started coaching through Follow Our Passion. I learned that not every parent is like my mom and while I am not here to judge -it did open my eyes.
