Life and Work with Morganne Lavigne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morganne Lavigne.

Morganne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Colorado native, and I love love love this beautiful state! I grew up in a small mountain town, Bailey, Colorado with my parents and my older sister! I currently am 21 years old. My dreams are to travel (even though I’m terrified of flying!) and to one day, open my own boutique! Jake is my boyfriend of a little over a year now! Jake and my amazing mom take most of my pictures! I couldn’t do it without them.

I started to blog in 2016 after years of being inspired by the newest trends, fashion icons, and beauty gurus. Being so young in the “blogger world” has taken me a while longer to build up enough courage and knowledge to put myself out there, and express my style. Ever since I can remember, I have been motivated to create my own style by following modern bloggers. The main focal point of my blog is to inspire others to express themselves confidently through fashion or certain hobbies and interests they may have.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy road. With anything you move forward with in life, there are ups and downs. I have had such a hard time maintaining life itself while still entertaining hobbies that I have, such as blogging. I also have struggled with comparison, a lot. In this world of social media, it is so easy to compare each aspect of your life to others. I even took a major break from blogging because I was so consumed by it.

The advice I have for other women who may relate to the same feelings or emotions is that no one is you, I was told that piece of advice from an old book I read and it has stuck with me. No one is you. So simple, yet so true. You have the power of being you and no one else. Be you, do you and be proud of who you are. Go for what you want and don’t let other opinions or ideal images set you back on the road to your dreams. I promise everything in life gets easier when you are confident and proud of who you are. I still struggle with this but I remind myself that piece of advice every day.

Please tell us about your work.
I am a lifestyle and fashion blogger. Although I have had major setbacks in the “blogging world” I strive to give fashion tips and lifestyle advice to women, I also love to chat about advice topics on my blog to relate and connect to others.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I have always stuck by the phrase, “Women can do anything men can do” I believe women can obtain any and all opportunities they are faced with, under any circumstances. Girl power!
