Meet Angela Ireland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Ireland.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Angela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my business in 2005, I was still attending school at the time in Fort Collins, CO. The business started out as Refined Design & Staging. Two weeks before I officially started the company I flew to Minneapolis Minnesota to obtain my Interior ReDesign & Staging certificate. With the excitement of what I had learned I knew it was time to follow my passion and dreams. I started out small, doing Re-Design projects (Re-Design is where the designer uses what the homeowner already has to create a fresh and new space. Typically you wouldn’t purchase anything new in that situation). I also staged small properties by using purchased or rented furniture and accessories. With very little marketing I worked very hard to keep the business strong through the relationships I developed and word of mouth.

Over the years the business grew and once I was out of school I began to broaden my design to include interior design projects as well. I loved the relationships I built with my clients and seeing how happy they were upon completion of my design work. It is very rewarding to know that my designs had helped so many people transform their house to a home and love where they live. In 2010 I met my husband and made the move to Denver. In transition, I worked retail as a visual merchandiser and store manager to help supplement income while I rebuilt my clientele here in Denver. I married my husband in 2013, changed the business name to Angela Ireland Interiors and I am humbled and grateful for the growth and relationships I have developed here in Denver. We just recently moved our small home-based office to a storefront space in SOBO. With the help of my wonderful assistant Emma, we are growing and have now added professional organization to our list of services. In January, I will be welcoming our third baby boy to our family. Family is so important to me, and I truly believe home is where the heart is.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not always. I would say the learning curves are the biggest struggles. Sometimes you have to make those unwanted mistakes to learn and grow. It is a necessary evil. Moving to a new city and re-branding and creating a new client list was probably the hardest challenge but the most rewarding one.

Please tell us more about your work. What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in Interior decorating, Real Estate Staging and now Design Organization. We feel organization plays a very important part, and oftentimes overlooked role in the design. We didn’t want to leave that out of the services we offered. I would say we specialize in an organic “Colorado Modern” design style. We realize it is very important to follow and stay on-trend, our design is customized for the longevity of the client’s tastes and how they live in their space. We strive for a unique design that is equally as functional for our clients’ needs.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is defined through my clients. If I have created a space that gives them that “this is my home” feeling, I have succeeded. My business has been built on client referrals, which is the best compliment I can receive. The greatest reward is knowing I made a positive impact on someone’s daily lifestyle.
