Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Wardle.
Hi Annie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I had previously worked as the Director of Marketing for a large eyecare company in Colorado. I loved the challenge of driving sales and creating campaigns that would engage customers. But I wanted more control over my life, so when I finally had the guts to do it, I quit my job and started my marketing agency.
My husband supported me; he believed in me wholeheartedly and knew I could make this business a success. I was committed to making this work. Within two months, I had replaced my income. I put all my energy into it and succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. Clients were thrilled with my work and began referring me to other businesses in their industry.
I continued to grow my business steadily over the next few years, and I now have a team of talented marketers helping me reach even more clients. I’ve come a long way since those early days when I was just starting out, but I’ll never forget where I began or how hard I worked to get here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I first started my business, I was completely overwhelmed. There were so many challenges and struggles I had to face on a daily basis. One of the biggest challenges was knowing when to hire more people. I didn’t want to expand too quickly and end up with a team that wasn’t the right fit for my company. But at the same time, I didn’t want to fall behind because I was too afraid to take on new employees.
Another big challenge was dealing with hard clients. Some clients can be really demanding and difficult to work with. It took me a while to learn how to communicate with them effectively and maintain a good relationship. And sometimes, you just have to let certain clients go. You can’t please everyone, so it’s important to find the right balance for your company.
Finally, one of the biggest struggles for any business is getting the policies and procedures in place. This can be really tricky, especially when you’re first starting out. You don’t want to create too many rules and regulations, but you also need some guidelines in order to keep your company running smoothly. It’s definitely something that takes time and patience to get right.

What were you like growing up?
I was born and raised in a small town in Utah. There wasn’t much to do there, but I loved spending time reading, camping, riding horses, riding dirt bikes, jumping on the trampoline, and playing outside. As I got older, I realized I wanted out of that town. So, I did extra school work to graduate a year and a half early so I could move to the city.
