Meet Bobbie Jo Kuhl of Into The Mystic Healing & Arts in Golden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobbie Jo Kuhl.

Bobbie Jo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in small farm towns throughout Nebraska, Iowa, and Texas. I had switched schools nine times growing up and was bored with school. I dropped out of high school my junior year and then attended an alternative school where I graduated six months earlier than I would have had I stayed in school… I spent the next ten years working various jobs, mainly the service industry. I became a stay at home mother but felt like something was missing from my life. I started massage therapy school in January 2009 and found the missing piece, I loved it!! In November 2009, just before I graduated, I had a vision to open a metaphysical store in downtown Golden. There would be space for massage, an area for reading, possibly rent out my room to a skin care person a few days a week. I started searching for rental properties in downtown Golden and found a space located on 14th street. I toured the inside a couple of times, drove by it regularly, walked by it and showed it to my friends. The space remained vacant for two years. I finally called to see if I could negotiate a price. As I talked to the landlord, he informed me that someone just signed a lease two days before, so it was no longer available. I kept saying I wanted the place on 14th street. Two years after that I found a business that was renting massage rooms across the street from where I had originally looked, on 14th Street. 12 days later I was giving a proposal to the landlords and ended up taking over the entire space. I found local vendors to put their merchandise in the store, rented rooms to other practitioners and opened the organic juice bar. The following year I added a sensory deprivation float pod to the space to help people relax even more! There are many practitioners here that offer amazing services and have helped me to co-create the powerful energy here. It has been almost six years of owning my business and we now teach several classes and host events. I love that I was able to start and grow my business without ever having gone to college. Over the years many people have expressed their gratitude for me creating this place and so many people have been helped with all we have to offer.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but it has been worth it. I had to work on releasing control issues becoming a landlord/business owner/massage therapist, making juices and creating recipes all while running the store and trying to grow my own practice. I had up to 14 different practitioners to be responsible for and this all happened in a few months. I really learned how little control we have over things in life, it is more how we handle the situations. I had to be at the business every day for over two years so I had to sacrifice many things in my life. The construction for the float pod took six months which was much longer than I had anticipated and I would say that was the most stressful time ever. Someone broke into the business in March 2017 which really shook up the energy, however, I learned a lot about detachment.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

We have several amazing practitioners here that offer massage, reiki, Ozone Therapy, Vitamin-C & b-12 treatments, body scrubs, vampire facials, shamanic journeying, mediumship, psychic readings, tarot and oracle card readings.

I specialize in psychic intuitive readings, past life activations, crystal sound bowl therapy, Osho Zen Tarot card readings, alchemy, channeling and I am a Medium. I teach several guided meditations as well.

I am most proud to have such a unique place that offers so much to help people to relax, reset and learn how to truly love themselves. I feel what sets us apart is that there is no other business that I have found that offers this much in one location.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I knew that I needed to create this space in Golden because there was nothing like it. Denver/Golden is growing rapidly so I feel this city is a good place for a business like mine. Most people here are very open to other alternative forms of therapy and healing.
