Meet Brooke Berndt of Find Your Fire in South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Berndt.

Brooke, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Being an entrepreneur is a part of my DNA. I grew up watching my grandmother, my great uncle, and my parents all own and operate taverns. At 12 years old I was earning my keep by cleaning and sorting bottles at our family’s sports bar, which 37 years later, is still operating in South Denver. I worked there through high school and then found myself in Arizona for College. Nothing in College scholastically excited me…except the social life and the pool. I barely graduated and decided to come back to Denver after traveling Europe to figure out my career path. My father invited me to come back and work in the family business until I found a job. Starting out as a waitress I quickly found myself behind the bar and then in running our family business…. I was loving it!! I loved the social interaction with people and I loved making money. It just made sense at the time that this was the path I was supposed to follow. Run the family business. Yes, that’s my calling I immersed myself in learning the business and after 3 years I felt like it was time to open another location. A location that was more of my own. My father and I went into a lease together in Tamarac square in 2002. This was my baby, I poured my heart and soul into this business. I was working 7 days a week and was loving it because I was having what I thought was true success. That as all I knew.

It started to wear on me physically and when 2008 hit, our family business took the hardest financial blow. All three of our locations did. The mall we were in decided they were going to re-develop without us in mind. We were forced out of our lease, and I lost my business and everything I had worked for. It was the most humbling and crippling time of my life. At 36 I didn’t know what I was going to do. I went down a rabbit hole of depression, shame, and guilt. I didn’t want to open another location. And we didn’t have the capital to do so either.

I found myself on my couch. Daily. Watching Oprah and unconsciously eating entire bags of sun chips. Watching people on her show do epic things while making an impact. They had a sense of purpose! Wait what? Could I have that? They were also earning amazing incomes doing what they loved. I yearned for that too. But the grey cloud of depression left me 15lbs heavier and feeling like crap in shamed myself every day. It was paralyzing.

It was such a dark time and I didn’t know how I was going to get out of it….

Thank God for Facebook! One day I just had enough with how I was feeling. And my mind was open to looking for a health solution. A friend of mine posted about how she had energy and she looked amazing! It caught my eye and because I trusted her, I reached out. She shared her nutritional program with me and I was STOKED to give it a go. My husband wasn’t. Because of how much it was and that because of my bar business, we were BARELY making it. I had taken on walking dogs, and that doesn’t pay much. I went from a 6 figure income to making $300 A WEEK. So he wasn’t behind us spending $400 upfront on groceries. After balling my face off to him, he obliged and our pack was on its way! We decided to split it to save some money and by day 12 he lost 12lbs and I lost 5! It wasn’t even the weight that I was excited about. It was how I FELT! You know when you just know that this is the answer you have been looking for! This is the lifestyle solution that was missing. It was the ticket to me getting out of my depression! People started asking us what we were doing and we started to share, but very quietly, because guess what.?!?!These products were attached to NETWORK MARKETING. Oh heck NO! We are not those people, I know what a true business is. And direct sales is NOT! So I kept my quiet UNTIL I made my first $54 in RESIDUAL INCOME. Say what? Yes, that income you make in your sleep y’all! The income that didn’t require me to be behind a bar until 3 in the morning or walk 100 dogs in a day. Hold the phone, okay who do I gotta talk to about more of that!?!?

I got invited to a local business meeting and off I went. I did walk in with an attitude, Beyoncé style. Because if they were going to tell me that this opportunity was about Yachts and cheesy sales pitching…I WAS OUT! But hot dignity it wasn’t. There were people in the room who were doing epic and impactful stuff….OPRAH kind of stuff. SIGN ME UP!

At that meeting I was invited to an event in Vegas. We were so broke, but God got me there! I went and learned all that I could about this profession and my company. I was FIRED UP! I received permission to live a big and full life and go after those dreams that God had put on my heart..I came back from that event and couldn’t shut up… I was ignorance on FIRE! I started affecting people with my products and my opportunity. A total 180 from what I did in the bar business. It felt good! Some friends joined me…they hitched their wagons to mine and we got to WORK! My enthusiasm wasn’t accepted by most tho and that’s okay. I was working on myself. The personal development filled my soul. I was like, ” how come I didn’t learn this stuff in college?”.

My business took off like a rocket ship. I went to the highest leadership level in 6 months. Year 2, I unlocked a 6 figure income, earned a trip to Hawaii, and the best part is my best friend did the same thing…she actually out earns me….and guess what, I enrolled her! She was able to retire from social work and be home with her boys and fulfill her own dreams. I was able to fill her wagon and we have been able to fill so many people’s wagons as they have joined us in our organization. We have created one person six figure earner, and co-created 2 more. We have over 20 people making over 5 figures….and we have several people in our organization that our thousand-ares. Over 8,800 people have been affected by us saying yes to our companies’ products and opportunity. We are looking to double that my next year.

It will be 6 years this coming May that I decided to change my life. To live a life of purpose and impact. I am able to design my day, travel, change lives, and one of the best parts…I can’t be forced out of it like I was forced out of my lease from my brick and mortar. SUCH A BLESSING .I get to choose my earning potential, my business partners, my hours, where to work from. I still pinch myself. Tho this profession is HARD WORK. It’s my best work.

No matter the money or the success I have had in Network Marketing. I would give it ALL back to stay the person I am today. It has taught me the most about myself, my skills, and strengths (and what I am not good at). I have relationships with the most beautiful humans who inspire me to make more of a difference. I know the in’s and outs of social media. I know so much about nutrition and how to properly fuel the body with a lifestyle of ease mindset.

My goals are big. I am looking to create 3 more 6 figure income earners, 10 more 5 figure earners and 20 more thousand-ares. I am also looking to double my organization in the next 2 years. I want more people to feel as amazing as I do.

Plain and simple, I am always looking for people who are looking for more, People who are self-motivated and driven. People who watched Oprah and thought to themselves, “I know I want to do things like they are doing. I just need a vehicle to help me do it.” Then I am your girl lets hitch your wagon and get to work!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not a smooth road. I lost friends along the way. Which was a good thing because I did have a lot of toxic people around me. My father wasn’t super supported at first because he just didn’t understand the business model, but now he can’t shut up about what I do and the success that has followed. Also, people have been burned by network marketing companies that didn’t work with integrity…which makes it hard for them to be open to a company that does work with integrity and ethical business standards.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Find Your Fire story. Tell us more about the business.
Isagenix is a world class company because of their founders. They came out of retirement to build this company and wanted to make sure that the compensation plan was fair, the products were no compromise, and that by 2028 we will be a no waste company environmentally.

I specialize in helping people with their health goals; weight loss, energy and performance, healthy aging, and with the financial opportunity.

I am known for my leadership, my understanding of ethical marketing practices, my social media knowledge, and business skills.

I am so proud that our company is ethical and works from a place of integrity.

I think what sets us apart from others is our culture and community. We ALL support one another and we are only here to educate, support, and encourage with what we have.

And lastly, it’s our leadership. All companies rise and fall on leadership. We have phenomenal leaders at the helm.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I know believe in luck. I am a woman of faith. So I do believe there have been lessons and blessings. I know that when I lost my bar it wasn’t bad luck. It was just God teaching me something. And I know with the abundance that has come from my network marketing business has been hard work and blessings from God.
