Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Rowader.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Carly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I had just graduated with my business degree when my father passed away from cancer. I was only 26 years old and felt like I needed to take some time to have fun after all that we had gone through. Weddings were always something I was fascinated by. I’m a true romantic. So I thought it would be fun to work as a bridal stylist part-time. It was an absolute blast! After about a year, it was time to get full-time work and back on my career track. I took a position as Salon Manager for Clementine’s Salon & Skincare where I learned valuable insight on day to day operations and staff management. The owner, Dani Everson, was an inspiration, to say the least. While I was incredibly grateful for my time there, I was missing some personal connection to my career. I reached out to a friend I had made in bridal industry who had told me about Lovely Bride and their franchise opportunities. It has been almost two years since that initial conversation, and Lovely Bride Denver has been open for eight months.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think every person in Denver can recognize that it is going through growing pains. We have so much construction almost everywhere to go. Denver is just blowing up. I grew up in Colorado, and it is apparent to me how much this city has changed, and rapidly. The biggest challenge has been permitting and construction. I signed my lease in January of 2018, and my store on Walnut is almost ready to move into. Thankfully, my landlord offered a temporary space on Blake for me to conduct business in the meantime.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lovely Bride Denver – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Lovely Bride is a boutique bridal shop with 17 locations across the country. Twelve of those locations are individually owned by franchisees. I’m proud to say that each location is woman-owned; as is the company as a whole. We strive to be inclusive of brides of all sizes, ethnicity, sexuality, and style. Lovely Bride also offers the latest styles, and several of the designers we carry are exclusive to the company.
As far as Lovely Bride Denver goes, I believe it is not just our gowns that set us apart. The experience we offer brides is one they won’t forget. As an owner, it’s not all the beautiful gowns or the sales that keep me motivated and passionate. It’s the individual connections I make with brides and their guests. It’s the trust they have in me as I guide them during a process that is vulnerable and deeply personal. It’s the joy we share together when we find the gown that makes them feel like the very best version of themselves. I’m extremely proud of my staff as well because I know that they provide brides that experience as well.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For now, I’m just excited to have my permanent store be complete. It’s going to be one of the most beautiful shops in town. After that? I’m looking forward to meeting more brides and building meaningful relationships in the Denver wedding industry.
Update- Lovely Bride Denver has moved to their forever home located at 2636 Walnut St #100, Denver CO 80205. You can find them in Rino in between Matthew Morris Salon and 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
