Meet Cavell (EBONY) Webster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cavell (EBONY) Webster.

Hi EBONY, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Originally born on the island of Anguilla, I wanted everyone to have a piece of island at any point in time. So, I began creating island-inspired body care products and custom over-the-top Gift baskets for myself and friend and family. Finally, the idea to start my own business doing what I loved to do came in 2019 when I retired from the Army.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Obstacles are always found in business and there’s no business without one or two. On the path to success, I found starting a business takes a bit of financial backing and had to learned very quickly that you can’t please everyone, unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are known for our handmade body care products such as our Foaming Sugar Scrubs and of course our over-the-top custom Gift baskets.

We’re most proud of our Wax Melt making Workshop. It provide one with the ability to create their own custom-made wax melt, scented based on the theme. Handmade with love.

What set us apart is we stay true to our goal of bringing the island feel to our customers.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Covid-19 definitely was a challenge, mentally and physically. I learned to be more patient and with so many people unfortunately out of work and business slowing down drastically, we made use of the time by perfecting our Craft.
