Meet Christine Keller of Moodify Food

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Keller.

Hi Christine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Over the last two years, I have been experiencing & also witnessing the daily struggles that make up our world. I think it is fair to say that there is a mental health crisis in America. No matter how big or small, the struggles are real.

Feeling the need to help in any way I could, and relying on my 20+ years of experience developing food products & brands, I keyed into the proven fact that foods can have a big impact on your mood. What better way to help than to encourage people to start the day with a good breakfast and a good intention? With that in mind, we developed Moodify Oatmeal with ingredients to naturally boost your mood.

Today, you can order direct at https://www.moodifyfood.com/. And we are in Denver Local Grocery stores like Leever’s Locavore, Beaver’s and Lucky’s stores in Boulder, to name a few. We can also be spotted in cafes & hotels all around the Denver/Boulder area. We are still working on the big chains so keep an eye out.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’m not sure I have ever seen a business start-up without struggles and unforeseen bumps in the road. So yes, setbacks and obstacles are just a part of it.  For example, it is difficult launching a business during an inflationary time, not to mention the supply chain challenges.  But, we keep in mind that we will get knocked down but hopefully not knocked out. That takes flexibility and focus on the things that really matter.

When I personally have a setback, the best remedy is to lean into the reasons why we are in the business in the first place. And for me, that is our mission (mental health) and the food of course. I reflect on the personal mental health struggles and stories I have learned through this journey. I think of the faces of people when they eat Moodify Oatmeal. Those subtle smiles and connections go a long way for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Moodify Food. For our readers who might not be as familiarwhat can you tell them about the brand?
In a category that is full of tired old-school sugary oatmeal brands. Moodify is delicious, healthy, bright, engaging, and most importantly, positive.

We chose to launch our brand with a new spin on instant oatmeal cups. Our flavors include:

A Little Buzzed- Coffee, Cocoa Nibs + Cinnamon
Gut Feeling- Apples, Ginger, Cinnamon + Probiotics
Gone Bananas – Bananas, Almonds, Toasted Coconut + Cinnamon
It’s Nuts- Almonds, Pepitas + Toasted Coconut
Berry Bliss – Blueberries, Strawberries + Ginger & Cardamom
Golden State- Golden Raisins + Cinnamon

Our products offer superior texture with two types of oats, puffed amaranth and ground flax combined with big pieces of fruits & nuts. They are super easy to make. Just add hot water to the cup and you’re all set.

The best part is that unlike the other instant oatmeal products, we have zero added sugars. We are lightly sweetened with dates that help regulate your glucose throughout the morning. We are non-gmo, gluten-free and a good/excellent source of fiber.

They are delicious!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
As you know, success can be measured in many ways. We hope to build a healthy, profitable business, but we have bigger goals in mind. When we are successful in a profitable way, we plan to donate to mental health charities and organizations that are doing the really hard work.

In the meantime, if we can inspire just one person to take a few minutes to check in with their mental state and set the intention to have a better day, we’ve done our job.

For now, while we are building, this is how we measure our success. We have to start somewhere, and we believe little steps are the best way.

We also aim to destigmatize mental health, so let’s start talking about it. We can do that every day.
