Meet Courtney Jay Higgins of Coincide

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Jay Higgins.

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in the mountains of Summit County Colorado truly shaped who I am today. My sport in high school was competitive dance. That mixed with the stunning beauty all around me, connected me to the natural world and my physical body in a profound way.

My journey eventually brought me to California where I traded dance for yoga. Finding that it embodied all the parts of my soul in a way I was craving. Eventually I became certified with my 200 hr. YTT from Shivakali Yoga. A school rooted in ancient wisdom and a Hatha-based practice.

Today, I’m back in the mountains of Colorado with over. 12+ years of yoga knowledge and my online yoga membership platform called Coincide. Coincide acts as a landing place to move the body and help connect students to their inner wisdom. Inside the Coincide Yoga Portal, there are classes and courses meant to be a starting place for transformation. Helping to realign everyday choices. Create a routine yoga practice, and empower students to live life to the fullest.

Outside of Coincide, I also have a baby girl on the way, due beginning of November! During my time pregnant, I studied to receive my Prenatal YTT certification and launched a prenatal course for my mamas on Coincide.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Outside of yoga and spirituality, I love fashion. However, when I became immersed in yoga, I started seeing the dark sides of the fashion industry. This was challenging for me because it felt like my identity was split—fashion in one corner, yoga in another. I started exploring other industries and learned about the sustainable fashion movement. Along with conscious living. That’s when it began to click for me and I realized the two worlds didn’t have to be entirely separate. That they could actually Coincide.

Now, as another part of Coincide, I promote and support conscious brands helping make a difference in this world. Whether it’s sustainable fashion, zero-waste, or a holistic living brand—I love to share innovators in the space on The Blog. My hope is that by doing so, I can help others on their path to integrating mind, body, and spirit through supporting consciousness brands.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I describe Coincide as a landing place to unlock your potential. A place to move the body and connect to your inner wisdom. The classes I create on Coincide are designed to ease students into an at-home yoga practice that feels accessible and non-intimidating.

There are classes for every mood and every level. Classes for finding movement, awakening the body, and restoring the mind. For those who want to dive deeper into the ancient practices of yoga, there are also dedicated courses. In them, we explore eastern philosophy, spirituality, health, and integrated wellness. Created to help students grow both physically and metaphysically.

I hear many people say that yoga is intimidating or that they “aren’t flexible enough.” My goal with Coincide is to bring us back to the basics, the roots of yoga, before ever considering a handstand. I want to first help students realize is not only about connecting to the body, but also the mind, the soul, and our earth.

On Coincide I want to build a community that celebrates true wholeness that starts from within.

I’m also proud of The Blog and being able to work with brands thinking outside the box. Creating non-toxic, zero waste products to keep us and the earth happy.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think of luck as listening to your intuition. We have to listen to what our heart is telling us and go in that direction. Everything that has come into my life that I’m proud of is a result of saying yes to the things that serve my dharma, or life path and saying no to what doesn’t.
