Meet DJ Roberts of Luminate Home Loans

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Roberts.

Hi DJ, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember, I have found joy and purpose in helping others meet their goals. As a former psychologist, I loved the opportunity that I had to provide solutions and equip others with the knowledge that could improve their lifestyle.

Being a mortgage loan originator has allowed me to hold onto this purpose, as well as provided me with more flexibility and time with my family. For most of us, buying a home is one of the biggest purchases we’ll ever make! I’m thrilled to be in a position that allows me to assist people with this important decision.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were definitely some bumps in the road along the way. I would say the biggest hurdle was figuring out a healthy work/life balance at the beginning. I want to be the best dad I can be for my kids, which involves being present… but I had to work hard to learn about the mortgage industry and build my business. At the end of the day, I learned that clear communication and boundaries (and sticking to them) for myself are critical.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I work at Luminate Home Loans as a mortgage loan originator. At Luminate, it’s our goal to make home loans and the home buying process as approachable as possible. We make sure that everything stays transparent and consistent throughout your home-buying journey, so you don’t have to worry.

We are “Best Place to Work” certified for 2022-2023. We are known for making authentic, deep connections with our clients and helping our industry partners (realtors, insurance brokers, financial planners) meet their goals, as well.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I loved to read and learn. I was particularly interested in people and what made each of us unique, and the different dynamics associated with different groups of people. I was extroverted and enjoyed playing sports and outside with my friends.
