Meet Dr. Jennifer Andrade of Elevate Health Chiropractic in West Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jennifer Andrade.

Dr. Jennifer, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Northglenn, Colorado and from a young age, I was always interested in helping people and fascinated by the human body. This curiosity and interest led me to pursue a career in the physical healing arts. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and received her Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology.

During the last year of my undergraduate studies, I was involved in a car accident with a friend. Following the accident, my friend sustained a concussion and suffered from daily, debilitating headaches that forced him to drop out of school and quit doing the things he loved. He sought treatment from acupuncturists, medical doctors, neurologists, physical therapists, and massage therapists and found no relief. He had all but lost hope, then he sought treatment with a Chiropractor. His headaches quickly disappeared, and he was able to get his life back. After witnessing these amazing results, I decided to pursue a career in Chiropractic. I attended Parker University in Dallas, TX and graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

After graduation, I was eager to begin serving my community through Chiropractic. I spent the first several years of practice gaining valuable experience and honing my new skills while working as an associate Doctor. I learned a lot about Chiropractic, running a business and how I wanted to run my own practice one day.

Two years ago, I decided that I wanted to take the leap and open my own Chiropractic practice. Through my experience working for other Doctors, I learned what I liked about each practice and what I would like to change on my own. I wanted to spend more time treating my patients, truly understand their problems, help them create sustainable solutions to their health challenges and I wanted to create long-lasting relationships with my patients and the community. So, Elevate Health Chiropractic was born!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the last two years, I have learned a lot. I have experienced a lot of challenges and victories in my business. It has not always been easy or pretty, but it has always been worth it.

There have been plenty of bumps in the road. I realized that I am a great Chiropractor and employee, but I am not the best business owner or boss to myself. It is so vital to surround yourself with like-minded people that can serve as mentors, coaches and accountability partners. Running a business is not for the faint of heart., but it is worth it. At the end of the day, I love what I do, and I feel truly blessed to be able to serve my community as a Chiropractor.

We’d love to hear more about your practice.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always interested in learning about the world around particularly anything to do with science and how things worked. Initially, as a young girl, I thought when I grew up I would be a Veterinarian or a Zookeeper. But then I realized that I would have to put dogs and cats down and I decided that wasn’t the right career path for me. I took an interest in the human body and how it worked at an early age. My favorite subjects in school were Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Personality-wise, I was really shy as a child. I’ve overcome that more as less as an adult, but I still lean to the introverted side. I always made friends easily and cared deeply about those around me. I always wanted to help people in a way that I could. I always loved learning new things as well. So I guess, it was always in the cards for me to become a healer.
