Meet Dr. Lindsay Regehr of Elite Chiropractic & Wellness in Cherry Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Lindsay Regehr. She and her team share her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Dr. Lindsay grew up in a physically active family and played sports from the time she could walk, with basketball and track being particular favorites. Along the way, she suffered injuries that periodically prevented her from participating in sports as much as she would have liked. Through these injuries, she became fascinated with how the body heals itself and the rehabilitation process to get back to what she loves.

Dr. Lindsay went to the University of Wisconsin and earned a bachelors of science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-med with the intention to become a physical therapist. Through twists and turns and a change of plans, Dr. Lindsay started working at a chiropractic office as the office manager. This was her first experience with chiropractic – it’s also the reason she became a chiropractor.

She received her first chiropractic adjustment while working at this office, and her back pain that she had been experiencing for years from sports injuries was gone in a few treatments. She was truly amazed at how well her body healed itself and dove headfirst into the holistic chiropractic lifestyle.

Dr. Lindsay went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic where she earned her doctorate of chiropractic. She spent additional hours learning about biomechanics and extremity adjusting and had the opportunity to travel and teach other chiropractors the techniques that she was taught by her mentor.

Upon graduating, she relocated to Denver to start working at an office and learn how to actually run a business. After six months, Dr. Lindsay decided to pursue her dream of owning her own practice and officially opened Elite Chiropractic & Wellness in June 2018.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nobody tells you how much work it takes to run a successful business. Yes, people tell you it will be hard, but I wanted to be the exception.

I opened my practice about two years earlier than expected, which was a challenge in itself. Getting financing, creating systems, being the CEO, CFO, CMO, administrative assistant all at one time is challenging.

The most challenging part has been defining exactly what I want my practice to look like. Of course I want to help everyone; however, that’s not practical when creating a marketing plan. I’ve learned through trial and error exactly what works for me, and sometimes I need to learn the lesson the hard way. Gaining clarity on exactly what my mission is and who I want to serve has been a work in progress, and about one year later I think I have finally defined it.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Elite Chiropractic & Wellness is not your typical chiropractic office. I utilize state-of-the-art technology to identify exactly how your body is responding to everyday stress, and how that stress shows up in your body and is affecting your overall health.

Most people come to me because they have aches and pains. I address their symptoms, then dive deeper into the physical, emotional, and chemical stresses in their life. We encounter stress every day, and most people don’t realize that stress is energy, and it has to be stored somewhere in the body. It may not be showing up as back pain; it can also show up as fatigue, digestive issues, allergies, joint pain, etc. It’s my job to dive deeper and figure out what is truly causing dysfunction in the body.

We also discuss life goals because being “healthy” looks different to everyone. For one person it might be climbing a 14er, or maybe they want to lose weight, and for someone else, it could be increased energy to play with their kids. Understanding each individual’s health goals helps me provide each client with a customized plan to educate and inspire them to create a healthier lifestyle and achieve their goals.

Lastly, it’s more than chiropractic. We discuss nutrition and can range from keeping food journals to recommending supplements to mindful eating. Mobility and movement is also incorporated into all treatments because I believe that movement is necessary to achieve most health and life goals. Accountability is also key, and I make sure I follow up with each client and they know that I am here to support them with whatever health questions and challenges arise.

What really sets us apart is the well-rounded approach to care. Chiropractic, nutrition, mobility, and mindset as customized for each client to educate and inspire them to create a healthier lifestyle and achieve their goals.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Denver is the best place to be! I feel that we are so lucky to live in a place that is a huge outdoor playground, we have the greatest weather, we are highly educated, and it really encourages people to be active and healthy.

Denver is saturated with chiropractors; however, the city is always growing and there are more than enough people to serve. Each doctor practices differently and I think it’s fantastic that we can offer such a variety of services, techniques, and philosophies as a profession so that everyone in the Denver area can find a chiropractor that works for them.
