Today we’re excited to introduce you to Jenny Usaj. Jenny is an Employing Broker and co-owner of Usaj Realty and is also a content partner. Content partners help Voyage in so many ways from spreading the word about the work that we do, sponsoring our mission and collaborating with us on content like this. Check out our conversation with Jenny below.
Hi Jenny, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
When I was young, I would help my dad with “fix and flips” in Houston, Texas. I kept this time as a memory and pursued other career opportunities until my husband, Anton, encouraged me to get my broker’s license. This re-ignited my passion for this work and together, Anton and I opened Usaj Realty. Starting your own business is never easy, but the opportunity will present itself if you’re coming from a place of love and connection. Looking back at Usaj Realty’s success, the top three factors driving our growth are keeping our commitments, adding more value than expected, and producing the client’s desired outcome on time. We strive to create raving fans! My personal recommendation for other aspiring Realtors or business owners is to cultivate a habit of working out and meditation. I’m committed to balancing my life and prioritizing my personal wellness. This helps fill my cup so I can let the rest overflow.
What are homebuyers in Denver struggling with right now?
Inventory in all price ranges continues to be a challenge for buyers. While interest rates are great, the options are slim. Buyers are more patient and diligently looking for weeks sometimes before finding “the one”.
Is the downtown market recovering from the pandemic?
Yes, downtown Denver is really recovering nicely. During the Pandemic potential buyers were scared by the idea of sharing elevators and common hallways but today we are past these concerns and back to loving the city.
How did the pandemic change what homebuyers look for in Denver homes?
Buyers shifted their priorities to include work from home space, more guest rooms, and outdoor space. In 2020 our homes doubled as schools, hotels, date night, and entertainment. It was a year where many people increased their square footage requirements and outdoor space needs.
What is your favorite thing about the culture at Usaj Realty?
We care about each other, have fun, work hard, and laugh harder! Our culture was intentional from day one and inspired by the tight-knit community of the fire department in Denver.
What is one of the best pieces of advice someone has ever given you?
The world belongs to the energetic. If you have the energy and the passion the world is yours for the taking.
What is the most magical vacation spot you’ve ever been to?
This summer we attended Chautauqua Institute in New York, it was magical. The gated, college-like neighborhood allows few cars, the tree-lined streets are small and the community feels like a scene from an old movie. In the afternoon, you could take a bike ride and find world-class musicians playing for fun in the park, take a boat on Lake Chautauqua, and listen to a lecture from a best-selling author! Creativity and beauty were everywhere.
