Meet Joe Clark of Get the Gallery in Downtown Denver – Platte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Clark.

Joe, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The idea for Get the Gallery originated from my childhood. My parents belonged to our local art museum. As members of the museum, they were allowed to take home certain pieces of artwork, kind of like a library book.

As a result, we always had new artwork and sculpture in our home. That really had an impact on me so I thought perhaps that could be a great business. The goal is to modernize and scale that original idea making original artwork easily accessible.

Has it been a smooth road?
We’re a pretty new company. We just started working on the business plan this year and we just recently launched. Like any start-up, there are good times mixed with struggle but all-in-all it has been fun and exciting to watch this concept grow, and especially to see our members with the artwork from local artists hanging in their homes or offices. That’s really rewarding.

We’d love to hear more about your art.
For the first time ever, you can have stunning original artwork in your home or office for a small monthly subscription fee. Think Rent the Runway but with original artwork. We curate all original pieces from local Denver artists and fill our online gallery with literally hundreds of pieces. Our members pick from three monthly plans that offer multiple artworks to be taken out at a time. The great thing is members can rotate the pieces out whenever they like whether it’s to freshen up their walls for a new season, an event, or just because they feel like it. We hand deliver all the artwork and we even offer optional White Glove service if our members would like some help with hanging the art.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We feel Denver is the perfect place to start this business. There are so many talented artists here and numerous neighborhoods that support and cultivate the local art scene. There is also a vibrate start-up community across the metro area with hundreds of early-stage companies in the works.
