Meet Kaeleigh Testwuide of The Diamond Reserve in Cherry Creek North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaeleigh Testwuide.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2015, I began working for The Diamond Reserve as the manager. At the time The Diamond Reserve was just a marketing company that generated leads, those leads were then sent to a diamond broker. I worked out of that diamond broker’s office and very quickly did I learn about how much dishonesty there was in the diamond and jewelry business. After about six months of working for The Diamond Reserve, my husband and I bought the brand with a mission to create a transparent and honest diamond buying experience. I then rebranded The Diamond Reserve, only selling GIA certified diamonds and taking the time to educate each and every client in their first private appointment, no matter their budget. The Diamond Reserve brand has only grown since that point, and we are known for our transparency as well as guiding our clients in designing timeless engagement rings and fine jewelry. All of our engagement rings are handmade in Colorado, we provide white glove customer service at the same pricing as online dealers.

Has it been a smooth road?
There has, of course, been struggles in this business. The diamond and jewelry business is very competitive and when we first rebranded we dealt with competitors posting fake reviews about us. It has been very important for us not to get caught up in that kind of activity, I have found focusing on our brand and mission is what leads to our success.

There are not a lot of women in the diamond specific industry. I have formed very good relationships with diamond dealers around the world, but managing those relationships as a woman is not always easy. I have to be very careful of not being taken advantage of, and always have to make sure I am negotiating the best possible pricing for my clients.

There will always be struggles in any kind of business, what is most important is to continue to persevere. Mistakes will be made, lessons will be learned, but if you stay authentic to your brand and mission you will find success.

The Diamond Reserve is a private jeweler and diamond brokerage office. We specialize in diamond education, GIA certified diamonds, engagement rings, and fine diamond and gemstone jewelry. What The Diamond Reserve is most known for is providing each and every client with a transparent and honest diamond education in a private setting. This is exactly what sets apart from our competitors. We do not look at our clients as a sale, we look at each client as the opportunity to pass on our diamond knowledge with the hopes of creating a lasting trusting relationship, one that allows us to be part of our client’s most memorable life moments. Whether someone purchases with us or not, it gives us great pride knowing that they can take the knowledge we have provided them with and go out and make an educated decision, no matter where they purchase.

I am most proud of The Diamond Reserve for always sticking to our mission! Of course, it would be very easy to just show clients diamonds and sell them on some sparkle, but we take the time to educate at each and every appointment. I am also VERY proud of our GIA certified diamond inventory. Each diamond is viewed multiple times upon selection, ensuring that we are only offering out of our inventory the most beautifully curated selection of GIA certified diamonds Colorado has to offer. You can have two diamonds that are equally graded, but one is clearly better than the other. We never buy our diamonds based on certification alone.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Denver is a great city for businesses like ours. This city is full of young professionals and that number continues to grow. Young professionals being so educated when making any kind of big purchase want to work with someone that respects them, will further their education, and will not sell them, but instead guide them in their purchase.

If starting a business, Denver is a great place! Denver is a growing city and one I believe to be progressive. It offers a great work-life balance and has so much sunshine. I think moving to Denver was one of my greatest decisions both professionally and personally.
