Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Seriano.
Kelley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I grew up in a family of strong work ethic. The example my parents set was one of hard work and taking pride in a job well done while serving the community. My commitment and dedication to all aspects of life resulted in a highly motivated and disciplined routine of studying dance all movement while creating an all-around healthy lifestyle. Through the extensive study of ballet, jazz and hip hop dance I learned that movement helps reduce stress while shifting energy. My journey led me to becoming a certified yoga, barre, and mat pilates instructor. My peers were always asking me to lead workouts and plan parties, so I realized being a connector came naturally. After extensively studying soul work while living in Minneapolis, with a practitioner named Leni Erickson I was led to really dig deep into my soul purpose. I realized I was living it and began thriving more and craved being closer to the mountains in Colorado. When I first moved to Colorado, I began studying a modality of meditation called neurosculpting@. In addition to studying, I was nudged again by the community to facilitate! I found that this study of science and spirituality helped me feel grounded and calm while feeling authentic joy. I now share my movement modalities through my practice KelleyMovement. Both energetically and physically.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Rocky for sure. The struggle of picking up and starting over twice, new communities and leaving old friends. Additionally, times when I didn’t have enough money for dinner or even coffee. Sometimes my looks had me have to work a bit extra hard to earn the seniority I deserved in the industry. My education continues to help me hold my space. I’m an empathic and psychic too and I only recently learned how to discern energy in the past four years. Before then, I would get locked up in fears and problems that weren’t mine. As a practitioner is so important to release what we pick up from others. Also being mindful of vampires and what’s real and what’s not was a huge struggle. I used to think everyone had amazing intentions. And it took getting burned a few times to realize that wasn’t the case. Now I can ground myself before most business meetings to realize the true intentions and set my own.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the KelleyMovement story. Tell us more about the business.
KelleyMovement begins to move individuals towards a more balanced life. Crazy schedules are part of life yet we can still promote happiness within the midst of the crazy. Boosting productivity in career while promoting well-being in the personal life is a main objective at KelleyMovement. Taking action toward goals and getting rid or softening what isn’t working can also be expected by working with KelleyMovement. Eventually, you will never look back.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
With a tear in my eye, I can honestly say I don’t know. I feel that with action we get a result. My actions have led me to meeting the right people at the right time. Yet I believe my intuition has played a BIG part. I believe in staying in motion, sometimes slow and sometimes fast yet keep moving.
