Today, we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Busch . Lauren was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Lea Hope Bonzer.
Lauren, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My husband and I bought an old pediatric dental practice in Colorado Springs in the spring of 2016. He is a pediatric dentist and I am an orthodontist. To be honest, it was hard at first. We struggled to get new patients and get the word out there but through determination, hard work, and building relationships we started to get the word out about our small practice. We built a new clinic in 2019 that is gorgeous and has the equipment and technology we love. We chose to theme it as a dinosaur clinic, kind of like the feeling of a museum. We have been building a tremendous staff and I am now very proud of my clinic I love working here. I have always loved my patients- they have been my rock this whole time!
Please tell us more about your practice.
We are one of the last truly local dental practices in colorado springs. When you are wondering ‘who is managing this place’ it is us the doctors. It is a lot of work but it is worth it because we know we are directly making the decisions for our patient’s care – from what equipment we use, to the clinical decisions we make. We are truly here for our patients.
Lea Hope Bonzer has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Lea Hope and your experience with them.
I met Lea initially in a women’s group I was in. She seemed to be friends with everyone and was very welcoming and kind. You could tell she loves her art and is passionate about sharing it with others. I love art and my husband loves art so I just immediately knew I wanted to work with her. I knew that there are kids in my office who need some distraction from the difficult procedures we have. I have two rooms in particular where they do fillings on young kids or even extractions. Some kids have tough tooth infections. I know my daughter always does better in a place she can look at the art on the walls. Lea and her business partner Lorian approached me and asked me if I would ever be interested in putting something interesting in the ceiling of my building and I said to myself what a great idea. She took the measurements and off she went. It was not a lot of work for me and was a price that I said made sense. The rooms have been totally transformed and the kids LOVE the rooms now. They can find little dinosaurs while they wait and they are transported to a different place. I am so glad I worked with Lea on this.
As a side note, Lea also made me interesting business cards that I adore using the art from our office.
