Meet Lucas Clarke of Ninja Nation in South Denver Metro Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas Clarke.

Lucas, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ninja Nation was founded in September of 2017 by Wayne Cavanaugh. I was brought on board in March of 2018 as the head of Marketing to join the leadership team, along with the first American Ninja Warrior, Geoff Britten. Our goal was to build a brand of amazing ninja gyms that feature classes, open gym and the best birthday parties on the planet. We opened three world-class Ninja Warrior Arenas in 2018. Our first location opened in July of 2018 in Lafayette, CO (a northwestern suburb of Denver) our second location was opened in September 2018 in Centennial, CO, and our third location in Frisco, TX in October 2018.

Ninja Nation is the leading provider of world-class obstacle course arenas across the country, serving America’s youth and adults with the most exciting facilities for developing skills, strength, and confidence. We love the sports of Ninja Warrior and Obstacle Course Racing and support every aspect of their growth. We believe everyone across the U.S. should have access to such an incredible activity.

We believe in providing youth and adults across the world with a fitness alternative that is fun, challenging and teaches us to get back up and try again. We are development focused, especially with getting our members stronger, more fit and more confident in their ability to tackle obstacles inside and outside of our arenas.

Our goal is to create over one million heroes. That’s one million kids and adults pushing their minds and bodies to limits they never thought possible and doing so in our arenas. Play, Train and Compete.

We also have five mobile Ninja Warrior Obstacle courses across the country in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Colorado, Texas and Tampa, FL. This allows us to bring the sport of Ninja to festivals, schools and civic events across the country.

Has it been a smooth road?
The sport of Ninja is all about overcoming obstacles. We have encountered our fair share of challenges along the way, learned from our failures, bounced back and catapulted ourselves forwards. When you are trying to open three gyms/arenas in three different locations in three months you struggle with lots of little things from construction delays to hiring and training to marketing. The main take away is that you work through the struggles as a team and have a growth mindset, grounded in positivity. Our mission of One Million Heroes has helped us overcome a lot of our struggles as a team. We look to our greater mission for perspective which always helps guide us.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ninja Nation – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.

I am most proud of our team and everyone who works at Ninja Nation. We all have a passion for fitness and moving our bodies as well as coaching kids and watching kids succeed. The team is always welcoming of new guests and they can’t wait to show people all of the cool obstacles and challenges in the Ninja Nation Arenas.

Other things that set us apart from other gyms and family entertainment centers is our commitment to safety, cleanliness and obstacle change-outs. We pad and mat our whole Arena floor and we spend a lot of time doing safety checks keeping our Arenas clean. We also change and update our obstacles each week so the Ninja Nation experience is always being updated and changed.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how active people in Denver and the Denver Metro Area are. Going to the mountains, hiking, skiing, running, biking, etc. People love being here.

I wish Denver was 3min from the foothills, not 30min. 🙂
