Meet Marina Bachurina of La Beaute Medical Aesthetics in Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina Bachurina.

Marina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in small military base, pretty much used to be secret city in Russia, both of my parents was research engineers of military planes fighters and I used to watch plane shows from my balcony when I was a kid, I was a good student at school and biology teach asked me if I would like to apply to medical school. At age of 16, I entered medical school in six years completed it and entered dermatology residency. While finishing medical school before applying to Derm I met my friend who had floppy disk in his pocket and I asked him what is that – he said it is entire list of Medical schools in the USA, I asked him is it possible to enter medical school or residency , he said medicals school in Russia is count and you have to repeat residency , then I left to Saint Petersburg to finish my residency in Dermatology , I did complete in 3 years and moved to San Diego to study for USMLE’s (united states medical license exam) road was bumpy at start because I did not know English I knew how to make sentence but vocabulary was sucks ! I decided to go to ESL at local college and it was so slow that I stopped and decided to translate USMLE Kaplan books and study English at the same time , I passed step 1 and passed step 2 CK and CS and applied to residency, while waiting for my interviews I found a job at dermatology USCD as medical assistant to improve my language and get work experience in USA , also I worked as volunteers at UCSD at burn unit in Hillcrest San Diego , one day I got invite from internal medicine program and got my job right there and finished 3 years of Internal Medicine in east coast , missed California so much I worked for few more years in Philadelphia in Internal Medicine and Aesthetic medicine , and decided to move back to San Diego , one winter before my move to west coast I came to Denver to ski at Vail , and fell in love with Colorado , got my license here and without job moved here with my son , found job as hospitalist right away and made a goal in few years to open my own office, few years pass my husband and me decided to work on office project, built out nice gorgeous office in metro area, it is a great opportunity for me to fulfill my dream as little girl to help people to feel good about their skin and feel well inside out. I have a great opportunity now to provide excellent care to patients and premium care when it comes to aesthetic needs. The End!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No —it was rough, time, filling exhausted, money but having a goal and dream helps to keep going and stay strong.
