Meet Moriah Riona of Moriah Riona Branding in Colorado Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moriah Riona.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It was 2009 and I had two things: a camera and a dream. I had just decided to launch my own wedding photography business, but I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

After a series of whole-hearted, but half-cocked DIY branding and marketing attempts (desperately trying to get my new photography biz off the ground), I became obsessed with the concept of branding and wanted to learn as much as I possibly could.

I went back to school and earned a BA in graphic design. Then I spent the next year and a half working for a marketing firm, branding Fortune 500 companies, before launching my own full-service branding studio.

My mission is to empower creative female entrepreneurs to build brands with confidence and success. Because I believe that confident and successful women can change the world.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road at all, but I don’t think I’d have the business I have today without all of the challenges I’ve faced. For a long time, I thought my biggest problem was not getting clients. But through my own branding process, I discovered that the real problem was not knowing my mission or my purpose. After I was able to articulate those things and share them confidently, the most amazing clients started to seek me out. I’ve now built a business booked with clients I love, working on projects I’m incredibly passionate about. Because I’ve seen first-hand how powerful the process of discovering the “why” behind your brand can be, I now work one-on-one with other creative entrepreneurs, to help them do the same.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Moriah Riona Branding is a full-service branding studio for creative female entrepreneurs. I offer an all-in-one experience for my clients where we can build their brand strategy, design their visual branding, shoot their brand photography and videos, and build their custom websites. It’s a total makeover for your business.

I just love seeing the transformations in my clients. When they come to me, they’re struggling. They’re talented and creative women, but their brands are lackluster. So they’re attracting cheap, bargain-hunting clients and a lot of them have trouble charging what they’re worth.

However, through the rebranding process, they start to feel more confident in themselves and their businesses. And after their new brand’s launch they’re finally able to attract their ideal clients. Watching this transformation in my clients is hands-down the most rewarding part of my career.

What were you like growing up?
When I was ten-years-old, I decided that I was going to be the CEO of my own company. At the time, I thought I wanted to be a fashion designer and was already planning my fashion empire. I was always drawing elaborate gowns and planning clothing lines. I remember spending most of my childhood in the middle of my family’s living room floor, surrounded by art supplies, with a massive sketchbook in my lap.

Now I’m actually working with a fashion designer to help her brand and launch her first line. I think it’s funny to see how my childhood dream has come full circle.
