Meet Paulette (Pennie) Gaudi of a Borgata in Conifer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulette (Pennie) Gaudi.

Paulette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We started in 2013 in a 1300 sqft building in Windy Point with only 15 artists. I thought to my self “What am I doing?”. After six months we were able to get up to 35 artists. Within one year we moved to another location in Conifer and increased up to 6,000 sqft and 80 artists. We now are still in Conifer and now host up to 200 artists in our store. At one point I own three stores and have recently cut back to just two locations, Conifer and Colorado Mills Mall. Our customers say “It’s always a shopping experience”. We always bring in new Artists and Craftspeople every month to keep the customers entertained. We have pottery, jewelry, photography, wood products, just to name a few.

We still have a location in the Colorado Mills Mall with 70+ Artists and Craftspeople in there. From Jewelry, Baby Clothes, Photography, Metal Art and so much more. Most everything is handmade from someone in Colorado. We get folks from way up North to South, East to West. If you have a craft or a unique item you make and you would like to get in front of customers, we are a GREAT avenue to do so for you. With inexpensive rents to the lowest commissions around.

Has it been a smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles is finding enough folks to keep the store full at all times to keep the customers engage.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with a Borgata – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We host to close to 200 Artists and Craftspeople that make one of a kind handmade items from somewhere in Colorado. We have been in business for seven years. We are known for our friendly customer service and we are not afraid of Special orders. Our customers say “it’s always a shopping adventure!!”

What makes me most proud of the company is to have lasted for seven years. Most businesses that open like mine only last a year or two. Plus we are always getting in products our customers like so they don’t have to go down to Denver for that special gift.

Set’s us apart? Old Fashion Customer service. One of a kind items. Always bring in new items monthly.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We are a tight-knit community, everyone helps everyone. The support from customers has been amazing, without them and the artists I wouldn’t have my company.

Wish we had a downtown main street style town.
