Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Voss.
Sierra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always needed to create. When I was younger, I studied jazz and opera and relished in the ability to make music. In college, I studied systems management in effort create sustainable ways humans could interact with the natural world around them. Post college I worked in documentary film creating outreach programs that harnessed visual assets to inspire cultural change. My background has formulated a beautiful mix of creative energy and structured system management. These two yang and yang elements, Creative Chaos and Structured Systems allow me to execute my creative visions.
Has it been a smooth road?
“The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people’s expectations.” ― Julia Cameron
I am constantly checking in with myself to see if I am selling my creative visions short. Have I voiced my true creative idea? Or am I presenting an agreeable option? What is the balance between getting hired while also staying true to my creative expression and expansiveness?
Being an artist who makes their living off their creative expression is never easy. There are always roadblocks and constant self-check ins as you grow with the forever moving world around you.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the VOSSLING story. Tell us more about the business.
VOSSLING specializes in creating. I work with my clients to develop a unique aesthetic for their production, company or product. Using my Creative Consulting skills, I help create, refine and develop systems to execute their visual vision. In some cases, I also use my set design skills and photography background to provide the physicals assists they need to achieve their vision.
I believe in a world where individuals and companies push themselves to think expansively. We spend so much of our day looking at content, let’s try to not make it all look the same.
