Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Gililland.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m 21 years old, I started tattooing when I was 19. It all really started when I was 11 and I decided I wanted to be a tattoo artist. I saw how people’s faces lit up after seeing the tattoo and how much people fell back in love with themselves. I wanted to do that for people, and I feel that way every time I tattoo. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mentors who taught me everything and how believed in me as well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, there’s not many struggles besides my own criticism that I do with my tattoos. Art and tattooing make my life easier, so it’s never a struggle with it.
Please tell us more about your art.
I specialize in neo-traditional colorwork. What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come in a short period of time. Nothing special about me besides I’m a young adult making my dreams a reality.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The fact that tattooing fell into my lap was the luckiest thing my life has seen. Without art or tattooing, I wouldn’t be me and I wouldn’t be so passionate about life.
