Meet Trailblazer Bonnie Sizer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Sizer.

Bonnie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After realizing that my previous career wasn’t very good for my health, I decided to turn my photography hobby into a profession. I have now been a proud business owner for two years. I have steadily been growing my client base and I’m currently expanding my wedding services.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! Owning your own business is insanely difficult. Working for myself and taking pride in my creative work makes all the difficulties absolutely worth it.

My advice to new entrepreneurs is to use your resources, don’t be afraid to ask for help, you are surrounded by my mentors and the internet is full of free advice.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a wedding and portrait photographer. My bold, vibrant style sets me apart from many of the light and airy or dark and moody editors out there now. I believe photography should be fun and full of life! Clients enjoy my sessions because we have fun together, which helps them feel at ease and act naturally in front of the camera.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
My family has always nurtured a love of fine art. This has helped me to feel secure in pursuit of a creative career.
