Today we’d like to introduce you to Trayce Chapman.
Trayce is a 27-year-old Denver native who relocated to Houston for college. Having been state class track star in high school Chapman pursued his lifelong passion for music after growing bored of athletics. In 2012, Trayce returned to Denver and took the world by storm having opened up for Da Baby, YG, A Boogie wit da hoodie, A$AP Ferg, Curren$y, Talib Kweli to name a few. Many confuse the pronunciation of Chapman’s first name with singer Tracy Chapman however it’s said as TRACE. The 303 natives are poised to elevate his brand from regional to global.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road and like any other artist, I had personal hurdles I had to jump over in order to position myself. The birth of my son is something that was terrifying before he came but it’s something that sharpened my hustle and focuses to a T.
Rest Is For Billionaires – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Rest Is For Billionaires is a lifestyle brand that specializes in arts and fashion. The name of the brand means that tireless work and focus are mandatory, non-negotiable until you achieve your goals which may not be a billion dollars (although ours is).
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment would have to be changing my stage moniker to my real name and achieving success. No more proud moment than having the real me be accepted across the masses.
