Meet Tyler Quinn of Alchemy 365 in LoHi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Quinn. Tyler and his team share their story with us below.

Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
Alchemy 365 is a fitness company based out of Minneapolis, MN. Alchemy’s founders opened their first location in 2015 after spending years working independently in various fitness companies ranging from CrossFit to Lifetime Fitness and CorePower Yoga. The goal was to bridge the gap between what looked like opposing ends of the fitness spectrum – the somewhat inaccessible, and often intimidating intensity of CrossFit, and the less effective DIY gyms and “pure” yoga studios where customers complained of boredom and plateaus. Alchemy does this by integrating fundamental elements of yoga flow, with the highest value functional movements and the right amount of intensity without going overboard.

Since 2015, Alchemy has expanded to five studios in the Twin Cities and entered its first new market in Denver in the fall of 2018.

Alchemy’s founders have ambitious goals of further expansion and becoming and national player. They’re driven to create a world-class fitness offering and improving hundreds of thousands of lives along the way.

Has it been a smooth road?
Alchemy launched like a rocket ship. For the first few years, it was as though the company couldn’t miss its goals even if it tried to. But, like most entrepreneurial stories, the company faced big challenges as it prepared to expand into its first new market. We designated tremendous resources – personnel and financial – to ensure a successful launch in Denver. That put strain on the teams and 2018 was a year of learning and refocused. That said, the first quarter of 2019 saw Alchemy reach record highs in membership and revenue and the company is in the midst of a capital raises to fund accelerated growth in the coming year.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Alchemy 365 – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Alchemy transcends fitness. Yes, at our core, we offer a complete fitness experience through various group fitness classes but what sets the company apart are its core values, its brand, and the overall experience the customer has from the moment they walk into the moment they walk out. Alchemy staff stays put in one studio and the sense of community is palpable. You’ll be greeted by name and taken care of like a VIP whether it’s your first day or you’re a founding member from 2015.

Alchemy’s spoken mission is to help people feel alive. Sometimes that’s about exercise, but frequently that’s about treating people the right way and fostering an environment that empowers people, includes people, motivates people and shows people they are and can do more than they ever thought.

This is what makes Alchemy unique – the people, the experience, and the undeniable results the athletes enjoy after training with us.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We’ve had nothing but great experiences branching into Denver. Several of our Minneapolis based team members uprooted and moved to Denver to be a part of the launch and not one of them was missing the Minnesota winter. Of course, Denver is a city in flux, due in part to business like Alchemy our staff moving to town. There’s a lot of construction and moving parts to this city but it’s clear that the future is bright and exciting. It’s an honor to have been welcomed to Denver the way we have been and we couldn’t have imagined a better place to launch our first studio away from home. Right now, all future growth will be centered around the Colorado market and the many, many people looking for great places to sweat and connect with community.
