Viktoriya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) one of my responsibilities is often helping breastfeeding parents create a return-to-work plan for them. The more I was doing that, the more urgently I felt like I needed to come up with a solution to help create a welcoming and comfortable environment for breastfeeding parents at work that would support their breastfeeding goals. This is how Corporate Breastfeeding Support came into being. Since 2015 we have been serving Colorado organizations, public and co-working spaces in helping them set up their lactation accommodation and lactation support program.
There are many aspects that go into the creation of a well-rounded breastfeeding support program. We cover all of them from needs assessment, room planning, equipment rental and maintenance to the education, support and lactation consulting services. We work with company leaders, managers and employees to deliver the services they need.
Has it been a smooth road?
Never smooth. It has been a fun and exciting process, but also a learning experience every step of the way. No matter what comes my way – my passion and faith in the great cause will drive me forward.
