Meet Lynne McRae of Wonder Full Healing in Englewood and Loveland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynne McRae.

Lynne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Certified Community Herbalist, Reiki Master, and Yoga Nidra Practitioner. I have enjoyed seeing clients since 1995. For many years, I was focused on helping people heal their minds. However, I always felt that something was missing, and that true “wonder FULL healing” could look differently. I made stronger efforts to reflect on my life, the personal decisions and connections that have shaped it, and most importantly, what work needs to be done in the now. I then began to change myself. I started studying Community Herbalism, Reiki, and Yoga Nidra for my own healing, and then as a means to help serve my clients. I believe many people are disconnected from others, their natural world, and themselves. When we truly create healthy connections, we walk through life with clarity, purpose, and understanding. In connection, you get to drive your own life, with your own hands on the wheel of awareness, intention, purpose, and growth. It is from this place that I serve my clients and help guide them towards their own healing.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not. With recent changes in my own healing philosophies, I walked away from traditional, medically-based models of care. I still use traditional, research-oriented, evidenced-based methods of therapy. However, I also use powerful healing techniques that come from our spiritual and natural world as complimentary therapies. People may dismiss these techniques as scary or ineffective. But what I do know is that they work and produce effective results with my clients. Part of my challenge is to attract those who are open to exploring with me a different, multi-dimensional way of healing. What I have found is that when you combine all these modalities together – it can rock your world. You may begin to question your entire life, and you may make amazing changes to it that you never even imagined could happen. It can be more challenging than anything else you have ever done. It has happened to me. Practicing Reiki, Herbal arts, and Yoga Nidra on myself has helped me make amazing discoveries. I also have been lucky to find a few mentors and teachers along the way too. It really helps to have people believe in you!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wonder Full Healing story. Tell us more about it.
My practice provides FULL, integrative, holistic healing to those who want to feel better at a deeper level. I believe that therapy can help change patterns related to the mind and our outward behaviors, while my complimentary/alternative practices, such as Reiki, Herbal arts, and Yoga Nidra, can help heal the body and spirit. My hope is to help my clients move mindfully through life transitions by decreasing stress, increasing coping and relaxation skills, and increasing their sense of personal fulfillment and connection. I tend to work well with people who experience anxiety, which can present itself as stress and burnout, using substances, food, or social media to cope, unhappy relationships, difficulties “coming out” or transitioning, or many other types of disconnections. While I see clients in the Denver metro area (Englewood), I also have an online teletherapy location in Loveland. I am increasingly providing online therapy and support. I don’t want a lack of time or commuting long distances to be an excuse for people to avoid working on themselves. My goal is to serve people who may have very busy schedules, hate driving in traffic, or those who live in rural locations.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe that our traditional medically-based models of care will become increasingly confusing to navigate and more expensive for all of us. I also believe that we will face tremendous technological change that will affect how we humans interface with computers and machines. I think that people will continue to seek more affordable and grounded psychological, spiritual, and body healing. I think there will be a true need for us to connect with our natural world and plant-based medicine that will focus on the prevention of disease, connect us to Mother Earth, and heal our spirits.
