Today we’d like to introduce you to Yelena Dent.
Yelena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and grew up in Ukraine. I’m fluent in Russian, Ukrainian and English; I have a bachelor degree in Accounting and master degree in International Economic Relations. In 2005, over 14 years ago, I came to the US and decided to build my new life here. With all the challenges of immigration and learning English, I pursued my passion for creativity and finished hairstyling college. At the same time, I continued to study spirituality, healthy psychology and energy healing. Working in Cherry Creek salons for the last 12 years allowed me to express myself in a world of beauty as well as business world building clientele and learning the industry. Now since last summer, I opened my own salon Yelena Styles that brings me so much satisfaction and joy. I became a very knowable expert in straight and curly hair for men and women. I have different approaches for both.
On the other hand, studying closely with the spiritual master healer and powerful self-discovery teachers, I’ve created a thriving life coaching and energy healing practice which feeds my spirit on so many levels. I support clients to live the life they love, to fully share their talents and gifts, nurture loving relationships and grow an impactful businesses with precise intentions and goals. And since last year I added to my healing practice new energy work certification: I became Mary Magdalena energy practitioner. It opened up for me the world of divine feminine power of love, which very much needed in our time to open our hearts to compassion and tenderness for ourselves and others.
I truly feel fulfilled, loved and blessed to be able to share with many outer and inner beauty transformation and powerful meditative and healing practices.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Learning and speaking English was the biggest obstacle in my self-expression. My most challenging task working in hair salons was to understand what the client wanted and trying to explain in broken English my vision for them. It was funny and awkward all at the same time. Then I faced the challenge to accept and fully embrace American culture. The longer I’ve lived here and improved my English the more I was able to merge my home culture and this culture into oneness within my being. As a result, I am able to love everyone equally.
I am thrilled to bring coaching into people’s life journeys and it’s been very well received. The energy work is sometimes difficult to explain. I often say: “You just have to experience it!” 🙂 My own clearing and purification of my past has helped to become more aware of my potential. It brought a great deal of freedom and confidence within me as well as having less obstacles created by my mind.
Please tell us more about your work.
As a hairstylist at my own salon, I am an expert in straight and curly hair for men and women. I use different techniques for color and cut for both types of hair. Also, I love creating up-dos for weddings or special occasions. I offer a huge variety of services such as haircuts, complex modern colors, hair straightening systems, and more. I am a make-up artist as well.
As a Life coach, I offer personal coaching. I support uplift and educate my clients to become empowered in their self-expression, create harmonious relationships, fulfilling work life, compassion, focus and clarity in their communications. I teach meditation personally and facilitate workshops.
As a Certified Magdalena energy practitioner, I offer Magdalena energy sessions. Working with the Saint Mary Magdalena, I assist the client to shift and raise up the frequency of their electro-magnetic field to transform what doesn’t serve them and anchor the highest in them. That way they effortlessly attract the highest they desire.
I also provide a FREE Magdalena meditation group night every third Tuesday of the month so people can experience the benefits of meditation.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My sister and I are both very musical. On occasion, we would improvise singing different high and low pitch sounds similar to jazz improvisation. One time our mom was listening to us from behind the door, and she thought we were the radio. Her eyes were big and surprised when she opened the door and saw us having a blast.
