Rising Stars: Meet Hardy Hyppolite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hardy Hyppolite.

Hi Hardy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’ve enjoyed designing digital products for companies like Kraft Foods, Godiva Chocolatier, MICROS, Oracle, and Canon throughout my 30-year corporate career. Over those years, I’ve always told myself that if I had an alcohol brand, it would be called THOUGHTS. That idea sat on the shelf for decades, almost forgotten until 2020 when I had the resources to manifest my dreams. After some initial research, I partnered with a Colorado distillery to who’s aging process is nothing short of brilliant. THOUGHTS® Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an award-winning spirit that uses Rocky Mountain water to bring a unique taste to the spirit industry. It’s only been two years on the market, but consumers love the taste.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been as smooth as I anticipated. I’m not sure if it’s just sheer competition in the marketplace or something else. My first distributor has done everything in his power to stop my success. I never thought I would have to sue another company to reclaim my products. Lack of funding is another issue. Most of the funds I put into this business are either my own or charged to my credit cards, but that will not stop me. I always say, when there’s no way around it, there’s always through it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have always been creative. I’ve been in the graphic design field for over 30 years. Everything that I know has been self-taught. I’ve never been to college. My career started with print design and then transitioned to web and UX/UI design. As I said before, I’ve developed products for companies like Godiva and Oracle. It was only a matter of time before I started doing it for myself, but as I like to say, it’s not about time… it’s about now.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’m a serial entrepreneur, but I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. I have a passion for creating. It’s not just limited to the digital space. I love creating new products and ideas that evoke an emotional response. It’s that passion that drives my work.
