Today we’re excited to introduce you to Kaitlin Amanatullah. Kaitlin is a Wedding and event coordinator/designer and is also a content partner. Content partners help Voyage in so many ways from spreading the word about the work that we do, sponsoring our mission and collaborating with us on content like this. Check out our conversation with Kaitlin below.

Hi Kaitlin, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
Congratulations! You’re here, you’re excited, you’re in the right place!

At Kaitlin Shea Weddings & Events, we believe your coordinator should be your confidant, guide, and right hand (wo)man! We love helping clients create an event that is unique to them and that celebrates who they are as individuals or as a couple/team! From organization to design, we can help you with every step of the process and take the stress out of planning for you, your family, & even your furry friends!

– Kaitlin & Team

What initially drew you to the world of weddings and events?
Initially, I loved the creative outlet it allowed me! The more I worked in weddings, the more I realized that there were about a million levels to this job that I’m passionate about! I love working with people and helping them create memories, the fast paced nature of the industry, the variety of tasks, the challenges it presents, and even the driving!

Were you surprised by the industry in any way?
I was (& my other team members have mentioned this as well) surprised by the amount of heavy lifting it involves – it’s not the luxurious job people think it is (thanks to movies like “The Wedding Planner”!)

What do you wish people understood about your job/position?
That it creeps into just about every part of my life! My car is always full of decor (same with my garage/office), clients reach out at ANY time of day and often on holidays, and taking time off can be a challenge! 😉

How has Covid and the past few years shaped your industry?
Covid has absolutely re-shaped the world of weddings and events. The Covid wedding backlog was only one part of the aftermath of 2020! Many businesses went under, supply chain difficulties continue, and inflation is heavily impacting every vendor category, but primarily catering/bar! Weddings are simply more expensive, because life continues to get more expensive.

What do you do to reinvigorate creativity when you’re feeling burnt out?
We absolutely LOVE styled shoots here at Kaitlin Shea Weddings! Not only do styled shoots (think of a wedding themed photoshoot where vendors all donate their goodies) allow us to meet new vendors and get new content, but they give us an outlet outside of client work where we can be 100% creative in the ways that WE want!

What kind of support do you require in your business?
My team members and my husband are my greatest personal support, but it’s really an industry where team effort is a must across the board! When all of the vendors are working together towards a common goal, we always crush it on event day!!

Alright, so before we go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
We’re on most social platforms as @kaitlinsheaweddings (including Pinterest) and you can find us at kaitlinsheaweddings.com! Our events page is over at kaitlinsheaevents.com!
