Today we’d like to introduce you to Aron Gordillo.
Hi Aron, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started reselling out of the trunk of my car back in 2019. I slowly started networking and building connections within the resell community which later helped me out becoming a very successful reseller here in Colorado. I then met my now partner Daniel Lim the other owner of Allaccesskickss through offer up which is a selling platform.
We met a few times and presented the idea of opening a shop and he was on board from the start. Daniel introduced me to our co-founder Brandon which was also met through offer up. We then decided to do a pop up in boulder at a vintage store called SLCT (best vintage in Colorado) which got our name out a little more and after that, we immediately started looking for locations in Denver and found one pretty quick so we opened up within a month of our pop up and ever since then we’ve been one of the top’s resell stores in Colorado.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it has been a pretty smooth road for the most part. An issue we had as a new shop was credit card scammers taking advantage of us being new to the retail world. We have since then improved our POS system and have done a lot to avoid scammers. Other than that it has been an amazing journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a first-generation student to graduate high school, I was told I had to go to college so that’s what I did. My mother said I had to be a doctor or lawyer to make good money so I went to CSU and was majoring in Neuroscience. My life goal was to become a Neurosurgeon but as you can see that didn’t happen.
I decided to leave school my junior year to pursue my dream of becoming an Entrepreneur and ever since I haven’t looked back. My will to help out my mother is the biggest reason I do what I do.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very troubled kid growing up. Up until my sophomore year of high school, I was always getting into trouble in school. Getting into fights and having bad grades were some of the things that held me back a lot of the time. I was always into sports although I was a troublemaker sports always kept me in place in a way.
I’ve played almost every sport from tennis to football and everything in between. After my sophomore year was when I was taking life a little more seriously simply because my track coach said I wouldn’t make it to college with my grades. So, I got my act together and not only got academic awards, but a lot got offers from colleges for track and field.
