Inspiring Conversations with Leslie White of Leslie Hair and Makeup

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie White. 

Hi Leslie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My formal education began in Chicago in 2007 where I proceeded to work in salons in downtown Chicago for 2 years until I relocated to Indiana where I was presented with the opportunity to start my own bridal business. After 12 years of a successful bridal business, I relocated to Denver where I split my time between the two cities. I specialize in natural and timeless bridal hair and makeup. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The wedding industry is a community of tightly knit professionals that will welcome you with open arms IF you can show that you are talented, reliable, and friendly. No matter the city, it’s all the same. So, sticking with those key components will easily help open doors into the industry networking. Once the networking has happened, work will approach you. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a full-time wedding specialist, I created a market for natural makeup artists in an area that had none at the time. My business got so busy that I had to outsource and hire artists to help take care of the bridal parties in need. I created a wedding team called Indy Bridal Co. that now has 12 artists and our reach of clients goes all throughout the Midwest. 

How do you define success?
My definition of success is not only personal pride but also that I have created a company that helps keep food on the table for 12 other artists. It enables them to spend more time with their families, go on the vacations they’ve always wanted and also provide job security for everyone on my team. Not to mention that we are year-round with our jobs and the demand only continues to grow. Meeting brides and not only treating them like family once they start working with us/me but also providing them confidence for their wedding day. It’s incredibly fulling.
